Is the Saywell Track Day worth going to? I've heard some good things about it, but i'm just wondering whether or not it's worth going. Might be a bit nippy though, date is the 25th of February. Does it cost anything to enter, and can any spectator turn up?
welcome to PHs! Is it worth going to... depends what your interest is ??
Its free to enter and yes, just turn up.... bear in mind its for charity, so put a few quid in the buckets!

I'm personally interested in all of the supercars and hypercars and whatnot mostly, and also i love seeing cars tracking too! If I do go i'll definitely put some money in the buckets. Reminds me of the Spinnaker Supercars event in Portsmouth back in May, free but if you put a fiver in the charity box you could sign a CCX with a special wrap, which was pretty cool.
There are 3 a year so if it's freezing cold wait out for 2 more. I've been going a few years but last February's was ruined by supercar spotters, the car park was full with mums awaiting their sons running around with GoPro's. Although I'm led to believe the other 2 events were back to normality.
I understand there are four planned for 2017 - 25th Feb, 13th May, 29th July and 21st Oct.
Well worth the trip to Goodwood, you get up close to some fantastic cars and if you're patient you might get a session as a passenger, just ask the drivers as they queue in the pit lane if they have a seat going. There's a nice atmosphere (although it did get a bit 'overcrowded' once last year!) and of course a nominated local charity will benefit from the day.

If you haven't been before, weather dependant its a great day out.
Yes its grown now and popular with car spotters and some idiots trying to show off but hopefully they will control that more this time to keep it "traditional". The best thing I saw was some d!ck in a new GTR revving and showing off when a 918 pulled in on electric only, quiet as a mouse - was brilliant since it was the greatest up yours ever with no effort whatsoever.
You can register and donate for a wrist band and then ask the drivers whether they have spaces to take you out - some get rides in some pretty exotic cars which for most will be once in a lifetime stuff.
I will likely pop down and have a wonder around.

Help
What do you drive? I'll see what I can do but no promises im afraid as it's always over subscribed. Help
If not, you're welcome to ride shotgun in my MINI. The passenger seat is usually going spare all morning but by lunch enough people see it nipping at the heels of the big boys and want a go

I've seen you there a few times and your mini is definitely impressive! I'd love a passenger ride if you have a spare seat in the morning. If not, you're welcome to ride shotgun in my MINI. Feel free to say hello. I'm at Brands on Monday 20th to give the car a shake down. Just finished rebuilding the engine after a friend blew it up, so doubt i'll be giving it everything on the Saturday but you're more than welcome if there is a space. jakemico said:

Good luck at Brands and hopefully I'll get a chance to go on track with you at Goodwood. Any idea when the first session starts?Ghopkins said:

Kick off at 0900. Best bet is to arrive early rather than late. Last year there was a convoy that arrived all at once and caused havoc which lead to people being turned away at the gate. Not something the organisers want a repeat of as it spoils the day for many and this is for charity after all!
This year the convoy is better organised by a chap called Ian, has an immaculate Diablo, so hopefully no repeat of the same.
Just seen a video on social media (also on YouTube) of a 488 losing control and nearly crashing into another car on the road outside the circuit. They were very lucky indeed...
