Kind of irrelevant as the dates I want it to be held to fit in with my diary are unlikely to be the dates Charlie picks.

Indeed. FWIW these are the dates of the last 4 years...

12-14 July 2013 (Moved from 5-7 July)
26-29 June 2014
25-28 June 2015
23-26 June 2016

irrelevant to you but very relevant to those of us who have to organise flights, tickets and accommodation

Have you signed up to alerts when the dates are released? I imagine that's the easiest way to find out.

But it's all speculative. And even when the dates are announced it is subject to change until the F1 calendar has been finalised.

The FIA F1 calendar is out, these are the relevant dates:

June 11 Canada (Montreal)*
June 18 Europe (Baku)
July 2 Austria (Red Bull Ring)
July 9 Britain (Silverstone)
July 23 Hungary (Hungaroring)
July 30 Germany (Hockenheim)*

  • provisional
As in 2016 Baku clashes with Le Mans, I reckon they'll have the FoS on the equivalent weekend as this year so 22nd-25th June

I'm sure it's deliberate the clash with lemans as I'm sure a lot more F1 drivers would like to compete in it. I'm hoping Jenson Button has a crack at it, I know Mark Webber has been trying to encourage him the last few years.

"Provisional dates for the next Goodwood Revival – the 20th edition of this inimitable event – have been announced as 8-10 September 2017.

Meanwhile, the Festival of Speed is provisionally scheduled to take place from 22-25 June 2017.

The 75th Members’ Meeting date is confirmed as 18-19 March 2017, and will not change. Unlike the first two dates, which are provisional, the 75th Members’ Meeting will not move."

2017 Goodwood Revival date announced

Cat amongst pigeons...the provisional F1 calendar has moved Baku to the weekend of June 25th, which happens to be the provisional date of FoS. If anyone is feeling brave a swift move now might secure a hotel on what will surely be a date change (either to June 18th and clash with Le Mans, or more likely to July 2nd).

11th June - Canada F1

18th June - Le Mans

25th June - Azerbaijan F1

9th July - Austria F1

Surely goodwood won't change the dates now that tickets are already on sale?
