More like tripled... I paid £60 in 2000 when I joined with no joining fee. I paid £210 for this year. Cue loads of posts about whether it's worth it! My view is if you live close enough to use the Kennels it probably is.
I was on about double the annual fee or there abouts. donjonmaster said:
The cost doesn't seem too much of an issue for the benefits and nice loos!!!
I don't know if I can wait 5 years...I might contact them by phone and chat with one of Lord March's lovely people and do a bit more digging...
Thanks for the replies everyone....
Out of interest, what exactly do you expect them to say?I don't know if I can wait 5 years...I might contact them by phone and chat with one of Lord March's lovely people and do a bit more digging...

Has the wait increased It was down to 2 yrs a few years ago
On Friday the club were saying its now increased to 5-6 years due to the members meeting creating an influx of requests. If anyone is unsure they can give the club a call to confirm their wait time as it's dependant on when you signed up.

Was the GRRC launched to garner support for re-opening the circuit & for Lord March to judge the level of confidence & commitment by car enthusiasts to support the project?
No, that would be the Goodwood Supporters Association, thanks to them, we now have this great event.CABC said:

After the first Members' Meeting the waiting list went up to 7000 and the waiting time was being quoted as 10 years (based on circa 95% retention). The capacity of the club was increased by 10% to help bring the wait time down and I believe it went up another 10% this year (I didn't see it announced but I was told by the office that membership now stands at 6000).New members this year were reporting a 2-3 year wait.

Could have joined some years ago but when I assessed it all for me the benefits didn't justify the cost .
Me too, I was offered membership when it first started but didn't have much spare money at the time, discounts didn't justify it and couldn't go to most other events due to small children.9.3 said:
I think about 6000 is pretty accurate as most of them were in the GRRC tent on Saturday when the heavens were opening ....
However there was only ever a 5minute line at the bar for the whole period. I think the staff coped very well with the numbers of people that descended and over lunch. 34053 said:
Actually yes - that had not occurred to me but waiting times at the bars in both GRRC enclosures were much lower this year. Perhaps employing bar staff able to recognise a beer pump helped.
Yes, was a vast improvement, they actually seemed to know the difference between beer and lager!Gassing Station | Goodwood Events | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
