What did people think of today's Thoroughbred Sunday, Breakfast Club? To me, it is my favourite one.

Yes one of my favourites too. Lots of people and a good mix of cars, although like Soft-top Sunday earlier in the year not as many as I was expecting. I think Goodwood must be cutting down on how many they allow in.

Looking forward to the pictures (hint).

I really enjoyed this morning and from the fantastic selection it seems like goodwood are doing a great job of choosing a wide variety

I turned up late (9'ish) with the 20vT five pot Hillclimb and sprint quattro on one of our ever increasingly rare outings, the good Goodwood folk were gracious enough to accommodate me. The selection of cars was beautifully diverse as always but I kept, unexpectedly, returning to the SLS Merc parked just a few cars up...

For me I feel is it the end of the full grids that we have grown used too over the years, this is the 2nd, possibly 3rd breakfast club with a very reduced grid and the fields are becoming far more interesting than the grid.

I'm actually kicking myself after seeing pictures of Bicester Heritage today that I didn't make the journey.

The pre booking requirement knackers the spontaneous supercar or mad box of frogs type car owners from rocking up on a whim... It's hard to administer I know, but when a whistle stop visit could bring some of the superb outfield machines presented today it begs the thorny question that maybe the old school approach of a benign dictatorship of 'in - or -out' no questions asked at the gate is probably the correct approach.

I got there about 7:30am (first time ever came that early & enjoyed the peace surrounding the place at the time) & stayed till about 11:30am & i enjoyed it & one of the best BC's this year.

There was a nice selection of cars around the place but i saw them all by about 10am so went off to the car parks. The gold mine in those places (as mentioned earlier) was endless. I saw plenty of cars that should have been parked on the track including two black 2.7 911 Carrera RS's, (a white one was in the paddocks) a Dino 246 GTS & a nice original Jaguar XK120 that the owner had since 1972!

I love seeing cars way older then myself as they give me a good feeling inside me that there's still plenty of these cars around to enjoy.

As for pure memorable experiences though, as good as this month's was, the Supercar BC was in another league. Somehow.

Pics? Gotcha! https://www.flickr.com/gp/59166814@N02/mi14oB

Till the next time.

Some pics from me below.

I do think that Goodwood can make better use of the "Tesco" car park for interesting cars which are "off-theme" - there are so many great cars in the field car parks that no doubt people would like to see as part of the meeting.

It was a lovely morning marred only by witnessing some absolutely shocking driving by a convoy of knuckle dragging dribbling morons in cars which far outweighed their abilities. No wonder locals repeatedly complain about Goodwood events if people are power sliding out of T-junctions in the local villages, overtaking at 70+ in 30 mph zones or barging past other cars around unsighted bends. It's as if these tts want to get Goodwood events restricted or banned. Well done chaps. rolleyes

Anyway, some pics:

What is the format of these meets in term of:

Arrival time?
Duration?
Advanced booking?
Parking?

I am interested but Goodwood is a couple of hours away so don't want to rock up for an hours meet!

Funny, and ironic you post these (esp the NSX), as I headed west with the above Quattro the NSX joined me (from Long Furlong) and stayed with me until I stopped for fuel at Fontwell.... Fantastic looking car on the road...

Gates open at 7am they close at 12 (if you meet the criteria and have a pass I believe you can arrive from 0630)

People come and go throughout the morning but 2-3 hours if you include some breakfast from one of the numerous outlets.

Advanced booking is for vehicles that meet the theme of the event, the next event is Italian Sunday on 02 October you can register here: https://www.goodwood.com/member/breakfast-club/

Parking is on the grid for special cars that meet the theme, in the paddocks for all other themed cars and in a grass field for cars not meeting the theme. (The field this weekend had Lamborghinis and similar low slung cars in so shouldn't be an issue.)

Other way round. The gates to the circuit open for registered cars at 7.00am, I believe the car parks open at 6.30am.
