Had this come through on Facebook today. shame as I'd used them many times for myself and as presents for others.

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!

Mithril Racing will be putting our cars away for the final time on Friday 28th October 2016!

The Directors Paul Mullen & Chris Taylor have decided to retire at the end of this season.

If you are reading this it means you are a customer of Mithril Racing, a Facebook friend, or a member of the Mithril Team. We would like to thank all our customers and friends, from the absolute bottom of our hearts, for helping us along this completely amazing journey. If you have been a guest on one of the thousands of events we have run over the past 33 years then we hope you enjoyed yourself and have fond memories of your day.

The Mithril Team has always been the best thing about this Company. Whatever type of event we are operating, our team has always delivered with a calm and cheerful authority and affable professionalism and for that we will be eternally grateful!

So, on a lighter note ALL OUR REMAINING OPERATIONAL DATES ARE NOW OPEN FOR BOOKINGS so if you have a voucher, or have always thought about coming to see us, now’s your final chance! We look forward to seeing you!
All the best!
Chris and Paul

What a great shame.

My children have had really good fun on Mithril driving experiences. Only recently they added a Lotus Elan to their fleet and I had planned to book it myself for my birthday next February. I'm surprised they are just shutting up, I wonder why they didn't sell the business on?

Goodwood's own Ultimate Driving Experience has taken their business.
Quote from the Chi Observer:

Managing director Chris Taylor said: “Recently Goodwood launched their own ‘driving experience’ company, which in turn has had an impact on us.

“It wasn’t until last Christmas we realised that for the first time we weren’t making a profit.

“This year Goodwood has been pushing their ‘driving experience’, and unfortunately there is not enough room at one venue for two operators.

Pretty much that and the same as when both Mithril and Peter Gethin were competing for the same customers with limited available days once the Revival increased demand for the circuit.

The pictures before the re-development of the track bring back some memories though.

A pity.

Was there a company operating before Mithril?
I remember doing a few things there, the first few times were some of the best I had ever done an not just because they were some of the first. The instructors / operators seemed happy for the cars to be pushed a bit, also once you had done initial day you could just book a single seater for laps.

Last time I went (which was mithril) was purely to have a go in a Ferrari 328/308 and it was purely an experience and felt very restricted.

Yes, I've been struggling for the last day to remember their name. Was it Winfield? Someone will know!

I didn't realise Goodwood's own track experience days were *that* successful tbh!
