I'm heading down to the moving motor show on Thursday with a couple of friends and then back again on Saturday with the family.

For the last few years, you enable to show your key on the BMW stand which then gains you access to the hospitality suite - and from memory free drinks.

Does anyone know if any other manufacturers are doing the same this year? I'm just trying to work out which car keys from my various group of friends we need to take with us to get some partial VIP treatment?

Mercedes do it - you get a good vantage point of the first bend of the hillclimb on their balcony too

Ford's stand is usually a few storeys tall so getting a good viewpoint on the top is a good place too

Having been going a few years, its really common.

so yes, amongst others it seems, we cottoned on to taking a small heap of car keys from every family member etc. Worth it.

Never paid for lunch at GFOS yet.

I've got access to my own VW key, plus, Ford, Mercedes, BMW & Bentley.

What would be the best one to take?

Two years ago we had a very pleasant hour on the Toyota stand due to having taken the Bride's Verso, will be back again this year for more free tea and coffee.

Neither Toyota or Skoda have stands at the show this year. Lexus do so might be worth a try with the Toyota key!

Just an update, I went with a friend yesterday and took Mercedes, BMW and Jaguar keys. Access to all 3 VIP areas was fine and relatively painless.

With both Mercedes and BMW it was simply a case of showing them the key and then they let you up the stairs, it appeared to be a 1 out 1 in type of arrangement, but wasn't too busy yesterday so we didn't have a problem.
Jaguar wanted you to give your details and register with them which caused a little bit of a queue, but again it wasn't massively busy so it was fine.

All 3 were providing water, coffee and tea. We did also might have some nibbles during lunch on the Jaguar stand.
