Has anybody managed to pay for their membership online today, is it due to heavy load due to tickets on sale today?

Mines on a DD so no issues there. Managed to put entrance tickets, programmes, paddock passes in basket but can't buy grandstand tickets so looks like another Goodwood IT omnishambles

You're right it was another Goodwood phone and IT shambles. The 01243 755xxx phone number was "unobtainable" at 9:00 and changed to "engaged" around 9:30. The web site wasn't letting some members log on for a while and when it did it didn't offer grandstand seats as an available option, just entry tickets, Lavant, March enclosure etc. and when I finally got through on the phone around 11:30 my preferred grandstand seats had gone.

It reflects badly on Goodwood that one can by tickets in lesss than a minute for Silverstone, Wembley, a rock concert or indeed my local regional theatre but to spend £500 with Goodwood takes 3 hours. Every year they announce the date tickets are going on sale and every year everything goes into meltdown!

My personnel view is that they should do it in batches so GRRC renewals last weekend, FOS this weekend, Revival next weekend. That way it may get rid of some traffic. Obviously not as convenient if you want all 3 but it's stops it going into overload.

It may also help if they hired in some computing power and expertise for the weekend.

It's been fine for me this morning, I've just renewed my membership and bought tickets with no problems at all.

Indeed (and it was working at 5pm yesterday afternoon) but the point is that one of the advantages of paying £215 to be a member of GRRC is that one gets first choice of seats in ones chosen grandstand. Having had a knee opp' I prefer an aisle seat and we like Chicane grandstand. If you have no preference for seats or use Lavant Bank then fine but surely it's not much to ask that the IT/phones and infrastructure works for those that want to get on a 9am to make their purchase.

Although it's not really a perk as there is 5,000 and soon to be more members who all have the benefit of purchasing a few grandstand seats at the same time. So even if the system worked you could still be left disappointed.

However at least if the system worked you'd have a bit of a chance obtaining them seats.

No Issues, except it wouldn't let me upgrade to Family Membership which is a shame. So saved some money for tickets.

Every year it is exactly the same rubbish experience. They really need to upgrade their IT systems to something more up-to-date.
