The highways agency in their infinite wisdom decided to continue the survey in rush hour last night down at the lancing A27 roundabout, took my OH 1hr40 to get home instead of the usual 20mins.

I'm sure the highways agency is a car hating organisation, anyhow rant over.

For peeps using the train there is engineering works from Barnham station onwards to Portsmouth harbour this weekend, bus replacement service.

Is there definitely a bus replacement between Chichester and Barnham. On national rail enquiries etc its still showing avrail service between Brighton and Chichester Sat/Sun? If its a bus it may be worth me getting a taxi to Barnham.

Sorry did not notice it's only until 0800 on Sunday according to this http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/...

But seeing as the cars start going up the hill at 0830...

Arrived and in the queue. Came from Wiltshire through Salisbury so A36, M27, A27. Loads of signs saying A27 shut right up to the point where the electronic signs had crosses on them. Shat my pants as had no idea how to divert but after nearly leaving the road as directed I noticed people were still using it and road was open.

Quickest journey I've ever had here, so quiet.

Absolutely no queue yesterday getting in and out of the FOS at 8am and 6 pm respectively for what it's worth - although I realise Thursday is the "quiet" day.

However just North of Midhurst at the junction with the new King Edward estate on the A286 there is a traffic light controlled contraflow whilst they are "line painting" - so yesterday long delays especially Northbound in the evening. Predictably no sign of any line painting or other activity either morning or evening.

35 years ago it was King Edward V11 Hospital, I worked there and entertained myself at the weekends by taking my Elan down to a disused, deserted and decrepit old airfield just North of Chichester - all changed a bit since....
