Going to FOS on Thursday and I'm looking for somewhere near ish the event that does a good fry up and opens early, any suggestions ?

I'll be coming south from the midhurst petersfield area.

FYI Mcdonalds is not an option TIA

Why not stop in at the Goodwood Hotel, it's a really good breakfast lick

All the food is made on the Estate.

I doubt you will find anywhere. Eat on site or prior to leaving its only a short drive to Goodwood.

There is The Royal Oak on the A286 just south of Midhurst and a few hundreds yards further on The Greyhound. Both of these usually open early for breakfast during Goodwood events. I'm not sure about Thursday though, which isn't really the FoS as such.

I cant be helpful in terms of specific places, but the routes down from that way always have pubs etc advertising breakfasts. Now whether they'll be doing it on a Thursday I dont know, but keep your eyes peeled and you'll find something. All the areas near Goodwood are a bit too gentrified for greasy spoon cafes though! Maybe see if theres any recommendations on truckers forums, those blokes know where to go!

Have it once on the grounds, loads of places doing breakfast butties, baps etc etc. Eaten whilst enjoying the evocative smell of castrol R smile

I went to a pub somewhere near Midhurst last year, was open very early to cater to FoS attendees.

Last year I paid something like £6.50 for an organic egg roll.

It didnt taste like a £6.50 roll!

It might not be on the way for you but the "chalet cafe" on the A281 just south of Cowfold, is where we stop every year without fail. Great place
