Top pubs in the town center with nice gardens are as follows:
The George & Dragon
The Park Tavern
Trents
The Fountain
The Nags Head
Food wise, the town centre has the usual chains (Wagamamas, ASK, Pizza Express, ZiZi`s) Woodies and Cote are both very nice but I`d venture further out of town and try the Fox & Hounds Funtington, The Blacksmiths Arms Donnington and The Star & Garter East Dean....all will need to be booked in advance

The Nag's Head is good, Lemongrass is also great if you like Thai http://lgchichester.co.uk/ (and just a few doors down from the Nags) and there's a good Indian a few doors along. Depending on the size of your group, it's probably be advisable to book. Chichester can get busy on a normal weekend around payday, I'd imagine it'll be busier than usual this weekend.
Not too far from Chi/Goodwood is The Fox Goes Free, in Chi itself if you're looking for breakfast then Bill's is pretty nice too.
