Hello everyone,

My Dad bought us two tickets to FoS on Sat 27th as a birthday present to myself. This is the first time we've attended this event and I was hoping you someone could give me some advice on what to see and when to see it? We'd like to see the hillclimb, and have a look around some interesting cars.

I see there is a program for sale, is that worth getting? £12 seems a bit expensive considering the cost of the tickets.

Also, I've been told traffic is pretty bad, what time should we get there? 07:00?

Thanks a lot,

Tony

I would get there as early as you possibly can, traffic can be bad depending on what direction you come from.

The programme also includes a clip on radio type thing to listen to Goodwood radio. The programme is also a nice memento and does have the timings in.
There are 2 runs for each category of car during the day, so just suss out what you want to see and wander around and watch from different points of the hill. Also wonder around the paddocks early and be around the paddocks (there are two and the supercar paddocks) when the respective cars go in and out so you can get up close.

Unless you really like rallying, I would not bother with the rally stage, its a fair old walk and takes a lot of time out of the day.

You will go back when you have been once, so don't worry about missing out on stuff, just wander around and get your bearings. and enjoy..

my advice? book a sunday ticket too!!

you wont get round it all (Im only going on the saturday too but wish i coudl fit 2 days in!).... so you need to prioritise really what you want to really see on the track... as said, the rally stage is quite a hike - they do have tractors to take you up but its usually a massive queue... if you hit them first thing, there wont be a queue, so if you fancy the rally stage, go first off id says then wander back down with a cider wink

the GAS arena, while not top of a lot of peoples must see list, is amazing, and if you visit, may find you spend longer there than planned!!... those guys are mental!!

best spec - outside the house - the F1 cars etc tend to do the most burnouts etc there....

but, no matter how you plan, and what you do, youll love it, and be back again, and again....an again...!!

enjoy!!

meant to say - thats why youll want a programme... get it on the way in, then you can work out when and what you want to see... the times dont ever run quite on time, so keep an eye on the track now and then to see whats going up in relation to the time in the programme!!... theyre never a million miles out though..

Sunday is sold out.

Again GAS is a must watch even if it isn't your thing, as they really know how to work the crowd and what they can do on a bike is incredible.
