FOS first timer questions
Discussion
A mate and I are coming from Australia for our first FOS this year. We are more into the cars than hospitality. Is the best course to buy weekend admission tickets, plus grandstand passes, plus supercar parking? (918 Spyder) Are there other options worth adding? What about GRRC membership - is that worthwhile? We are keen to stay somewhere with safe parking within daily driving distance- any suggestions? TIA

Buy your tickets today! They are likely to sell out around now. Get all 4 days if you can. You don't require grandstand passes unless you do the 4 days I would only get them for the Sunday. Supercar parking is not really worth the cost, you'll park closer to the action however it's still a dusty field just you park next to other supercars and more people are likely to walk round your car.
GRRC Membership if you haven't got the membership then you'll have a 3-5 year wait.
Accommodation, leaving it late most places will be booked within the area, so try Fareham, Southampton, Winchester, Basingstoke. Can't think of going east but you get the idea. Think 45min commute.
When you are driving in plan to arrive for 0730 and leave at 1900 each day or prepare to sit in traffic for a very long time.
Stay here, about an hour away

secluded off road parking and either a cracking cross country drive or a boring motorway cruise
The car parks will be packed with lovely cars so don't bother with the supercar parking

The grandstands are a bit far back but at least your sitting down, the auction is interesting if your into that stuff (I am) you have to buy a catalogue to get in (£40), the smell of the classic pits is great and when they start up...., the rally stage was a bit crap but maybe that's me.

Thanks everyone. 4 day pass, plus grandstands and parking all sorted. Also booked Audleys Wood Hotel.
Nice one, I hope you enjoy it all. Please feel free to blame me if you don't like the hotel..I live 10 mins away so shout if you need any local information. You will certainly enjoy the drive down and I always believe that any visit to Goodwood starts with the drive.

Basingstoke to Goodwood cross country is one of my favourite drives around the area. Especially the B2141. I live 10 mins away so shout if you need any local information. You will certainly enjoy the drive down and I always believe that any visit to Goodwood starts with the drive.
