What sort of time is best to go?, was thinking get there at 9ish? I live in Portsmouth so only takes around 30 minutes to get to Goodwood normally, will the traffic be really bad getting in? I was thinking of leaving around 830

Thanks.

Aiming to arrive at 9.00 am will probably mean at least a one hour queue to get parked, I would suggest trying to be there for around 7.30 am and heading straight for the Naafi wagon for a bacon and egg roll and a cup of tea before looking at the cars, that's what I do anyway.

If not longer!! I would leave no later than 0730 from Portsmouth.

Yup, we're leaving at 07:30 from Chichester and still expect a bit of traffic (if the weather is good of course).

Having said all that, I've been checking the weather and instead of leaving at 6.15 am to get there for 7.30 I'm going to leave at 9.00 am to try and miss the worst of the rain. I know a lot of cars will be leaving by the time I get there but the Naafi wagon will still be open.

What's the general consensus? The rain is currently 90 degrees to the vertical.

We are near Petworth on the north side of the downs and its only just stopped raining.

I wish Goodwood had a webcam (even a basic one) trackside so we could see what the weather was like down there.

Although I have heard super cars this morning so some people are already venturing out.

After the craziness of a couple of years back with the field closed and massive queues to get trackside I think I'll hold off leaving too early.

I've just watched the Beeb forecast and looked at will it rain today, I reckon that around 10.30 am the rain will be clearing Goodwood.

Plan B is still in force unless our daughter goes into labour in the next 30 minutes.

Same, just got back.. And glad left the 430 tucked up in the garage. It was pouring down and cold at 7:15. Still a very good turn out though and fair play to those that got their cars out

Not the best of days ,but hats of to the cars that did turn up .Made me laugh when a F40 came shooting through a huge puddle on the road making one of the marshals beat a hasty retreat.

I arrived at 0730, and just got home - I live 8 miles away. Coffee and bath in order to warm both my insides and outsides!

Chap of the day goes to Charlie for bringing his LCC Rocket. On a thread months ago I asked him to let me know if he was bringing it anywhere near Goodwood, a few emails this week and I didn't think it'd be there. Then the crowds parted and the beauty made my day! Top man.

Caught up with some friends, old and new, and looked over an awesome array of cars.

I don't know how he's done it, but Lord March really has created a brand and selection of free and paid events that I think is unmatched anywhere in the World.

Given the weather there was an impressive array of machinery at Goodwood this morning, a selection below (I'm afraid they are all "point and shoot" as I was juggling an umbrella at the same time!):

Just got home from a very wet and windy Breakfast Club. Amazed there were so many cars and people there.
Thanks again to Goodwood for putting on such a great event and not forgetting the Marshalls that have to stand out in the rain for hours on end.

Some photos can be found here.....
