Hi all,

Just a quick question regarding camping at FoS.
In 2012 we were staying at the campsite nearest to Goodwood Hotel. We were in the back of that field (near New Rd) which was fantastic as in the late afternoon we could enjoy the cars leaving the car parks, and in Britain that's a real treat due to the fact that you are all real petrolheads thumbup

Getting back to my original question - does anyone know the name / letter / reference of that particular campsite?
I really enjoy the proximity to the FoS main gate entrance as well as the fact that in the evening we could take an easy stroll to Goodwood Hotel for a few drinks.
And a subsequent question - is it possible to book that particular campsite, perhaps over the phone as a special request? Or perhaps that is reserved for campervans / electric pitches nowadays?
We're camping in normal tents and we don't need an electric pitch.

Thanks in advance beer

The campsite you're referring to is now all-electric, so of you'd like this particular campsite, you'll need to book the camping with electric. You're not obliged to use the electric, buts it's the only way to guarantee access to that site. The non-electric site is opposite the motor circuit (the Lavant Straight if you're familiar with the estate). A flat, short walk to the event & there are shuttles if needed. Hope that helps & enjoy the weekend!

Camping is always first to sell out followed by Saturday tickets in April/may then Sunday tickets followed by Friday. Thursday you can always get tickets.

I remember the days of turning up and buying tickets and about 5 years ago I did Friday and Saturday then Saturday evening the Mrs at the time asked if we could go Sunday jumped on the Internet Saturday evening and booked a pair of tickets. You'll never be able to do that anymore.

We changed to electric as soon as we realised the change in camping too. We loved walking through the hotel for brekkie and beer on the way home to the site. With a 3 yr old in row this year we just didn't want the big walk the other site had either.

Hi David,

We (Goodwood) are just trying to work out whether or not we can open up some extra electric camping in a different location (probably in the current non-electric site), so keep your eye on the website over the next few days.

Thanks,

Paul.

Seems I was lucky then - booked last week electric pitch for FoS and non-electric for Revival.

That's really really annoying to learn now. The last 2 years we have ended up in campsite E and I just assumed the one closer to the hotel was taken up by exhibitors and staff, etc. This year we were very close to going electric just to have phone charging. Wish we did now!!!
