I will be attending this years FOS but it'll be my first time at the event.

I'm sure I could be swayed, if the weather is nice, to leave the car at the hotel and have some beer but should I fancy, I'll drive in and, as my car qualifies (according to their list) I am considering the Performance Parking.

Can you tell me if this is at all worth it vs standard parking and what the perks are for my £60? I'm assuming that is safer, less manic/less accident prone perhaps but also a viewing gallery for the public also.

The only difference is you've paid for the privilege and you park next to the F1 paddock. So you have a shorter walk to the car. Wherever you park at Goodwood it will get covered in dust if it's dry or mud if it's wet. It's tucked out the way so most people won't look at your car.

Thanks. I think I may just make my own way in that case and leave the car.

There doesn't seem much merit to buying a space so I'm unsure why there's an exclusive list of cars allowed. I'm happy to hear it's not some kind of show stand as it sounds safer and I'm not really one for showing my car off anyhow; I wouldn't say it was hugely special anyway (C63 Coupe - qualifies in their category of "Any 2dr AMG").

Don't get me wrong there's some nice vehicles I've seen parked up, XJ220, F40 and so on but compared to the cars on show they kind of seem a dusty insignificant adition.

Don't park anything nice at Goodwood. If it's dry people will write in the dust that settles on your car. If it's wet you'll get stuck in the mud. Either way you'll be last in the queue to exit. They should be paying you to park there.

The only way to do Goodwood is to arrive before anyone else (7:30am) and leave before anyone else (3:30pm).

Be like us marshals, first in, last out, free parking & camping, trackside spectating. Ok, maybe a little work also, like push starting zillions pounds worth of Ferrari with a flat battery.
