Revival tickets

If you're looking to actually watch the racing then you really should consider the grandstand seats. It has become so busy over the last few years that the only other way to get a good viewing point is to get in early and camp at one spot all day, you then miss so much of what else is going on. Woodcote or even better still the chicane grandstands are your best options as they are also close to a lot of what is going on. Lavant is great but is a bit of a walk to the paddocks etc or a que for the tractor. Whatever you do it's the most magical event and has been the highlight of mine and my fathers year for a long time.

If you are there for just the one day you will have so much to see that you are unlikely to want to stay in one place for too long. The grandstands are ideal if you just want to watch the racing, otherwise just move about. If you are parking in the classic car park "over the road" not a bad idea to take folding chairs that you can use or leave in the boot as the mood takes you or better still get yourself a shooting stick as part of your attire. The are plenty of good standing/sitting spectating points on the banking within reasonable walking distance of the main activities. Enjoy!

I'll second that. I'm a shooting stick convert, having been given one as a present and using it at the last Revival.I've never used the grandstands at either the Revival or FoS.

And we're the opposite, although we do go for all 3 days. Friday is looking round day and Sat/sun are for watching the racing which we do from Chicane. Either way if it's your first time it's a great day out. Do dress appropriately. RichB said:

Being a GRRC member I spent most of my time when not walking around sat within the members enclosure at lavant and for the very first time I took a chair after realising it wasn't going to restrict anyone's view from that position.

IMO the GRRC enclosure on the Lavant straight is not in a great position to view racing. Would be far better either closer towards Lavant corner, or on the inside of the track opposite where it is now.
As I said, in my opinion.
We always park in the GRRC Lavant Straight enclosure just for one of the days. You're right, close to the tent you really only see the cars processing down the straight. However the parking area has been extended quite a way up towards Lavant corner now, and there are some great views of Lavant from there. Not only that, but you can see across to St. Mary's. If you've got really good binoculars you can see some of what's going on at Madgwick too.As I said, in my opinion.
I took my parents there this year on the Saturday, and got grandstand tickets as a) you get a good view of the racing without having to walk half-way round the circuit and b) it was somewhere they could sit as there is a lot of walking throughout the day.
They only used them for about half the day, as we wandered around the paddock area and had lunch etc... but it definitely made the day more enjoyable for them.
