I know only a few people frequent it but I noticed today that the GRRC Members Only section of the Goodwood forum seems to have disappeared. Is this the case or is it just yet another bit of fiddling around by the bunch that look after it and they've broken it? confused

RichB - I have just posted on the forum, so know that it is working!

I suspect that the tinkering may have logged you out. Try logging on again by clicking on the icon between 'More' and 'Tickets' in the top toolbar.

I'm definitely logged on. I was more meaning that there used to be a section that was 'GRRC members only' and that's gone. There's a bit for the "Members Meeting" but that's different and anyway it says it's a public section.

I'm seeing exactly that too…no members only enclosure.

They seem to be doing their best to force GRRC members to Pistonheads. After the FortyOneSix website that lasted all of one year, this current site has been buggy from day-one and now they get rid of the very section that gained the most use! It beggars belief.

Apologies - I misunderstood the point you were making.

Yes, I see exactly the same as your screen shot, but below the 'The GRRC Members’ Meeting – public forum' category at the bottom of your pic, I also see five further categories prefixed 'Members Only:'.

I had assumed that these were only accessible only after a valid (member) log in?

Must admit I gave up on it ages ago - most people seem to post here anyway

Perhaps you need to logout and login again Rich?

It locked me out for three days but I'm in now and I can see the additional forums.

I can see the GRRC members areas, I've noticed a lot of bugs since they've started the upgrade. Really they need to upgrade to a better forum, it's so slow and not nice to use at all.

Oh, that's even more annoying - I'll log in again, and I'll do it in Chrome. I recollect the Goodwood website doesn't like IE as the webby said it's not popular. rolleyes

ETA - Nah, just retied in Chrome and it's teh same, I'm logged in but can't see any of the additional sections. I give up... If anyone's on there post the question for me. laugh

It was hard work using the forum before they started "improving" it. Now it's truly useless.

I actually thought that the Forty One Six forum was OK. The only problems I had with it were the absence of a real members only area and that the spam wasn't controlled.

Thinking back, I was also content with the original GRRC forum. It was very simple, but it more or less worked.

Indeed, thinking back the original forum was the best so far. The problem with 46.1 was that no one from Goodwood took any interest in it and with no moderation the spammers just invaded at will .

Wow I really give up with the Goodwood forum, today's fun is I can see everything but click reply it does everything but bring up a box to type in!!!

So in the rare event something useful gets posted on there and someone actually chooses to continue to use the forum can they copy the post over here.

All I was trying to do was to say to IW that I just looked if what the office said to him about early renewals was correct but it isn't ive just tried online.

Strangley I can post but only in the public sections. It still doesn't recognise me as being a member... frown

James, can you ask the techies to take a look at this please? I am logged on but cannot see anything other than the public sections of the forum. Thanks Rich...

It is now allowing me to renew my membership.

A quick question to those in the know I'm looking at upgrading to a family membership, is it possible? And if so what are the benefits obviously I can then purchase 4 tickets to events and get 4 paddock passes for the revival but does it also allow entry into the kennels when I am not there using the 2nd badge?

Thanks ecsrobin. Coincidentally that question is why I rang the office in the first place, and I was told you can upgrade to family membership just by selecting it at renewal time. I don't know the answer to your Kennels question though.

~iw (IW on GRRC when it's working)

update: I've just tried online but there doesn't seem to be the drop down box that was described to me; the only option I've been given is to renew my individual membership.

I have the same thing Ian. It's not what's shown on the PDF in the GRRC forum. However I'll wait until the first before questioning it.
