I went for the morning session.
Goodwood is just the perfect place to visit when there is a bit of track action, the bacon/sausage van is open, it is sunny and not too crowded.

A few photos:

I was very pleasantly surprised to see your Dolomite Sprint.
I can't remember the last time I saw one but it is one of those cars from back in the day, which was ultra desirable but way beyond my means. It looks in great nick.

I have an okish photo of you entering the chicane, if you want any photos I would be happy to email.

I find the GRRC trackdays very overpriced so never go on them. Prefer the mainstream companies at two thirds of the price.

Indeed, I had an excellent day at Goodwood last September organised by the TVRCC. Great fun, well run and reasonably priced.

I'm with James on this one. I think the club has actually cost me about £30 this year by the time ticket savings, MMS tickets paddock passes and the free members day which my niece and nephew took full advantage of all the free rides.

Then there's the use of the kennels and the extra facilities at FOS and soon to be the revival.

The members meet I thought was worth the extra £120 for 2 days of brilliant racing. And the party alone I would have paid that.

The track days and auto solo is well priced in my eyes And I want to partake but doubt a civic is really the car to experience it in.

As for some of the other items that are a lot of money within the club like the driving tours. Looking at the reports it would seem your getting a lot for your money it's just I'm in the percentage of the club that can't afford that. But one day I hope to join in. And I'm very annoyed I decided against the lotus visit as I think that was worth it.

I was there and I too did a perfectly good owners club day back in the Spring for a little more than half the price. But I always feel it's a privilege to be able to enjoy the track when the Revival is drawing near, and especially to share it with such a gloriously eclectic mix of pertrolheadedness. It was a great escape of a day.
I've been a GRRC member since near the beginning and over the years the happy times that I have enjoyed at Goodwood events are beyond price. if I lived nearer I'm sure it would be even better than that!

Ha ha James! Touché ! I think you actually do understand the events I was referring to, as opposed to the single free event! Bit the Open Day is great fun and appreciated.

Thanks Kevin smile

As to GRRC events being overpriced, yes I can and do attend cheaper events, but, without exception I'd rather attend a GRRC (or, for that matter a RMA day) - you can get cheaper, but for value for money and the odd wonderful surprise (open pit lane, super cars to thrash, friends and family hospitality) I'll be hanging onto my membership for as long as I can. I'd love to attend more days, sadly I can't afford to attend as many days as I'd like - do I get the piss taken out of me when I take my old snotters along to GRRC days, No. Without exception, the old bangers get a good reception, lots of proper car people there who don't make me, one of the little people, feel out of place. And none of this, my car is better/faster than yours bks. Just proper petrol heads with a lovely selection of cars and good manners, which is sadly lacking in some walks of life.

Kevin - you've got one of my old snotter - the Dolly Sprint - whilst I was waiting with the red flag out. She's also lurking in the background when the TR6 is unloaded.

We had a great day, some nice cars, a few black flags for silly driving, but overall a great day, at least the rain held off.
I let an Aston by on one lap, then he let me back past the following lap, and a nicely driven black Elise was following for a while, so I let him past. But apart from those two, the old snotter didn't hold anyone up, she managed to overtake most things out in our sessions or at least kept well out of the way.

Goodwood has three places that are not flat out in the Dolly, obviously into the chicane, brake into St Marys and at the end of Lavant straight. Everywhere else, the full 127bhp is deployed to the full smile Not having to brake from the chicane right trough to St Marys is great fun in a low powered car (having super sticky wide track day tyres helps).

That Alfa looked lovely - here's another, having just been passed by the snotter before I go past the TR3 and Healey.
You may have overtaken THAT Alfa, but you didn't come past mine!

I really enjoyed the day. But then I always do. Perhaps the queues in the morning were a little long but it was all a lot of fun. My only gripe was I always seemed to be on track with the wrong sort of car…RS4's, the Golf, Exiges and so on…as opposed to more age appropriate stuff like your Dolomite, the Ashley Sprite and, of course, the other Alfa.

BBQ was nice too.

Well, there's the two of you engaged in what appears to be the
"my car is better/faster than yours" wiily waving nonsense that you claim doesn't happen at that event rolleyes.

Or indeed any track day event. I've done numerous track days in my Griff and one in the Aston and I can honestly say I've never once even noticed the type of car I've passed or been passed by. It's not the object of the day but I assume these chaps are just engaging in friendly banter.

Thank you. You would be right in that assumption. And it's faintly depressing that it needed to be pointed out.
