Thorougbred Sunday Advice
Discussion
Afternoon all,
I've got a pass for "Site Access" for Thorough Bred Sunday and having never been to a Breakfast Club was wondering if anyone had any advice... Specifically:
1) What time should I turn up at the gate, it just says before 8am... ?
2) any idea what "Site Access" means... and do I get a choice of where to park, or is it simply park where your told?
Thanks
Ru

Hi, been to FoS last year - but after opinions on this or similar Sunday events. Is it a good morning out for me and 10yr son ?
Sounds like cars parked up on track & paddock - likely to be a mix of 60's and modern, even only in paddock/parking areas ?
Assume it's not as busy to park as FoS was......
Thanks in advance

The Sunday Breakfast meets are not like the FoS. They're free, relaxed and just a general mix of cars with a theme for the grid, there's no running as the track is full of people. Aim to arrive early, get a bacon roll and a cup of tea and wander around. To be honest for me the fun is as much the drive there early in the morning as the meeting itself but they're a pleasant way to spend a Sunday morning... If the weather continues to stay as it is expect the event to be very busy aswell as the A27 through Chichester with people heading to the beaches. Sounds like cars parked up on track & paddock - likely to be a mix of 60's and modern, even only in paddock/parking areas ?

I usually leave around 8 if coming from north Hampshire and aim to be in the event by 9.
If just attending as a spectator and therefore happy to park outside, arrival sometime arround 9 is ideal. The event is free and there is normally a good mix of vehicles whatever the theme - some will be controversial and probably cause upset.
Plenty of walking involved, cars are static other than those arriving / leaving. Being a morning event it doesn't really mean youngsters etc get too bored.

This being pre 66 should mean less controversy, the normal argument is "is a porsche a supercar" and if that's the only negative then I'll be happy attending for years to come. Pre 66 is easy (although I believe last year later cars crept in) but the thoroughbred might not be so straight forward! To be honest it doesn't bother me if there are a few questionable entries but it does amuse me when people start moaning. I willnot be able to make this one but hope the weather improves!
Hi to all who are going to this Sundays Thoroughbred breakfast meet. I live about 1 mile from the Goodwood. I normally bring my VXR8 HSV Bathurst S in Black to the meets. My machine was not allowed entry this time, funny its more a Thoroughbred then a Supercar.
IMO its best to be there 7'ish these days. I would enter via The Lavant straight. That way you can drive around the Woodgate corner and down to the chicane . The later you leave your arrival the more likely you will be positioned away from the centre of it all. If you enter through the main entrance you don't get that thrill for driving on the circuit. However, don't be stupid and race around the circuit to your parking spot. You cannot, however choose where you park unless you have a start line certificate of entry.

I didn't realise they made VXR8's in the 60's?

So what does this mean? The idea is to bring together as many cars and bikes as possible that would have been around when Goodwood was in its heyday in the 1960s. So if you have a vehicle that was made before - or around - that time, then bring it along and help us recreate the heritage of a motoring era that is gone but in no way forgotten!
