Kinrarra at FOS - 2014 Problems

I was there on Saturday - my first visit to the enclosure, and I thought it was excellent in all respects and will plan to sign up for it next year for all three days. Speaking with Cleo Thorpe, one of the GRRC team on hand, they decided to frost the bottom half of the glass on the track facing restaurant windows this year to get around folk watching the hill climb runners from tables for long periods and creating long queues for those wanting breakfast / lunch. Certainly we found no queues for breakfast or lunch, which was great, and service overall was friendly and efficient.
As I understand it they added a first floor this year with a large covered balcony as well as having the big 'garden' area track-side with plenty of tables and chairs, and with the grandstand and good position I felt it was overall very well thought out.

I think the whole idea worked to what the GRRC team wanted, But its not what the fans wanted !!
We ate elsewhere, which i think you will find its not the idea that they wanted..
The new concept is brill, just remove the film off the windows, and allow more snack food to be eaten outside, then your on to a winner..

I thought it was alot better than last year - but last year the heat was unbearable and the air con this year makes a big difference. I did think the frosting was disappointing and rather took you away from the action, but last year getting a table for lunch on the decking was about an hour queue ! So can understand why. Also it was easy enough to just go upstairs and view from there.

The easy access to the stand, the air con and the space were all great. The added benefits make it all worth while too - parking really close with no queues at all and chauffeur up to the rally stage are great !

I will use again next year.

First World Problems - Audi Key stand was good enough for me, and I was able to partake of the free Strawbs and cream! How much did they cost in the Kinrara?

I tried the Kinrara enclosure for the first time this year as I could only go for one day. I enjoyed the experience, but I find it difficult to justify the premium over buying a roving grandstand seat and just using the GRRC enclosure

You need to be a GRRC member, then Kinrara costs per person £130 for Friday, £155 for Saturday and £155 for Sunday, or £375 for the weekend. You get a programme thrown in and can park a bit nearer.

As a comparison a GRRC member would pay person £68 for Friday, £91.10 for Saturday and £91.10 for Sunday or £200.60 for the weekend assuming a grandstand seat is bought as well.

As I mentioned, I only bought Saturday tickets, and including VAT, they were £155 each. That includes FoS entry, Kinrara admission, radio earpiece and the FoS entrants list and brochure.

I did the same, but for yesterday. Its basically a £50 per day premium to use the enclosure and for service in the restaurant rather than cafeteria style food in the GRRC enclosure

I've used Kinrara a couple of times but not again. The sole reason is that the need to be quite formally dressed in the enclosure means I wasn't comfortable wandering around the main site a bit overdressed. If you're not intending to mix with the hoi polloi it's great.
