At least it makes my "Urrrgh! Someone has vommed on the grass right behind my car!" moment pale into insignificance. At least I could move the car away from a puddle of some asshat's stomach contents. Criminal damage doesn't wash away with a bit of rain, neither

As an aside, the waiter at the Porsche Cafe told me they were required to take a credit card from you as soon as you ordered anything - they had too many people walking away without paying.Very sad if that sort of idiocy has crept into the FoS. But in the last three years or so, the FoS has gone from strength to strength in it's content, while the influx of new 'customers' has brought the tone down a fair bit. I'm not wealthy, nor flash, but I know how to behave properly in someone else's back garden (albeit Charles has a very large garden
).Last year we camped as a family (off the FoS site) but very local. A fairly nice, run of the mill camping/caravan park right beside the Chichester bypass. We'd bought Saturday tickets (as usual) and gotten some free Thursday tickets. Wednesday was all fine, just a few families on the camping field, enjoying the atmosphere etc, Had a lovely day at the Moving Motorshow, then, as far as clientele was concerned, the campsite went tits up. A whole mob of boorish a
holes descended on the place, revving car engines all over the place, kids running riot, and the toilet/shower block resembled an open sewer at times. Idiots over consuming food and alcohol, resulting in the inevitable 'pavement pizzas' and rubbish blowing around all over the place. I honestly felt sorry for the site owners, and much more so for the cleaners who had to work their tails off to keep on top of things. I was embarrassed to be associated with this mob of maggots, at least 95% of whom were solely there for the FoS.The theme continued this year, up on the hill. At Birdless Grove we were treated to the sight of a 'stag' in a wedding dress, leading a motley parade of friends and family, including some young teenagers. I found this to be wholly inappropriate as a venue for a 'booze up' sort of stag do. By all means, go to the FoS as a stag 'party' and then do the drinking thing afterwards, but don't inflict your ludicrous fancy dress and loud over-indulgences on everyone else.
Too many ignorant people also. Almost all of the ones I had 'issues' with were wearing Grandstand Tags, and just seemed intent on milling around, being generally ignorant. Like a father and son duo sat on the Style et Luxe lawn stuffing sausage rolls into their gaping mouths. Chaps! There's a time and a place for a picnic, and sat amongst some of the most beautiful cars on the face of the planet is not one of them!!!
Time, I'm afraid, Lord March, to ban anyone in 'teamwear' or a marque branded clothing, unless they belong to the team or are exhibiting. It simply lowers the tone

My wife will not come to the FoS because the one occasion she did go about 5 or 6 years ago she said it was too chavvy. I went on Thursday, the first time I'd been for a few years, and reported back that there was nowhere near as many chavs there but it sounds like they save it for the weekend for the pissed up morons to appear.

That's the point, really. Raising the FoS ticket price won't bring 'standards' up at all, as many of the ignorant idiots have plenty of cash to splash, just absolutely no idea how to behave properly at a public event. Making it more expensive would exclude a large number of ordinary folks who are genuinely interested in the cars and know how to conduct themselves in company.Apparently it's true what my grandparents used to say. The show is getting bigger and ever more popular which is good for its future but will always come with a degree of risk. In short, some people are tts. That said, all people are different and the way people see each other varies too. I personally find the snobbery the worst thing about some of the people there. It's a fantastic event for car enthusiasts of all backgrounds, not a car show for the rich and "worthy".
As for any cars being keyed, it's clearly a terrible thing and if someone did it deliberately they should be shot. Let's not jump to conclusions though and immediately stamp the blame on people we view as "the sort".

The number of individuals wandering around without a top on has gone up annually.
I think it could be time to strictly enforce a dress code to wheedle some of it out. No trainers or sports wear. Men in shirts etc. Have people on the gate enforcing it.

I felt that aswell, only a few minor incidents that I saw - 1 was 2 blocks kicking off at a spectator steward for stopping them crossing the track when it was closing only for them to push him, walk under the rope and past him only for the cowboy hat marshall to try stop them to then let them cross and then bBut maybe I didnt head to the areas with the real morons?
k the poor lad for it all! I wanted to go over and say something but thought it would fall on deaf ears.The only other major incident was watching prize giving some "skater dudes" were talking all the way through it and saying what they thought were funny comments which were not. however i was quite amused by a very drunk young female just constantly waving her hands about at the prize giving.
I think it is less chavvy as tickets are not as easily obtainable for free anymore and as it sells out in advance alot of these types dont have the idea to book in advance. You will always get a minority but I felt it was a great atmosphere and a very friendly crowd.
Thursday was certainly more people just there because its a free day out than because its a car event.
