Does anyone think this is seriously under threat this year from Loeb in the 208 T16 ? The test driver was 5 seconds short of the record last year, they will no doubt have tweaked the set up and they have Loeb at the wheel, but I reckon it's still 3 seconds or so out of reach.

Yes.
Loeb will be seriously going for it, in a vehicle specifically designed for hill climb events.
He knows that all eyes are on him, and he will be giving 100%

If it's wet he has no chance. In the dry; maybe.

I'm not sure. The T16 has a similar amount of power at 875, but weighs quite a bit more at 875kg, doesn't say if that is with driver or not, even if is that 275kg more than the F1 car, and that assumes McLaren didn't take any ballast out when they built the record car. Which considered the work they did do, short gearing, aero, suspension geometry, etc would be a surprise.
