Moving Motor Show (what to expect?)
Discussion
Hi All,
I have just been given 2 free tickets to the moving motor show on Thursday through the snows dealership group.
I am also going on Sunday and having never been to FOS before i gather the Sunday is the hill climb day and were all the action happens.
Question to you guys is, what happens on the Thursday?
Thanks to all responses in advanced

Why are there so many questions from people who've been given free tickets asking what the Thursday is like? Why not just go and find out??
Agreed if applying for tickets wether in a comp or not you'd hope they would know what to expect. Go along enjoy it and if you like it go for one of the proper days next year.jack01825 said:

I am going down on Thursday. Have been before to the MMS, it's a good day to have a good look around the paddocks with slightly smaller crowds than on the other days. I would concentrate on that and looking around all the trade stands. Sunday is then free for watching the action on the hill. Probably be leaving home about 7am ish I would think to beat the Lewes traffic. What time are you heading down as I think me and dad are leaving fairly early but I have to go in his rover shed :-(
I got there at 7 and left at 2. Thought it was pretty busy but everyone is coming in the same way and not much to see on the hill so hardly anyone watching that whereas on other days the grandstands would be full.
managed to be the first member of the public to drive up the hill at 8.40am, in a Dacia (slowly..). Also drove a Leon cupra which really shifted.
great to walk round the paddocks whilst they were fairly quiet, sat in some grandstands (which I have never done before). The gas riders were superb.
was underwhelmed by the laferrari but loved the Maserati 'concept'.
overall, great day, no traffic problems and even found my car straight away in the car park. Result. Well done Lord March
ps. How soon before the MMS is on wed as well ?

p.s. Take a look at the display of artwork on the cricket green. Mercedes have commissioned pictures of their racing cars in the 1930s (can't call them paintings because they are a combination of photographs and computer enhanced graphics) but they are stunningly detailed and displayed on boards about 3mtrs long.
Got in the GRRC forward parking before 7, but there was already a queue to get in and it seemed everyone was let in from about 7.15. I think they only use the 'bottom field' for the MMS and open up all the other parking areas from the Friday onwards.
Was a great day - saw what I wanted to see, took photos of what I wanted to gawp at and orientated myself for the next 2 days of the Festival, scoping out what my best mate will / wont want to see tomorrow, and then what my 8 y/o at his 1st FoS will want to spend all his time shooting to and from
One quick unrelated-to-the-OP-question question - Has anyone been on the Helicopter Pleasure flights and are they any good. They're totally overpriced, but for his 1st helicopter ride and his 1st GFoS I may relent and treat my boy

How much were the flights? I'm guessing its a 15min flight. £45pp for what they say is a 5-10 minute buzz of the Festival
Yeah that seems steep £35pp for 15min I would say is about right. Although it would be quite an impressive site from the air as you really don't grasp how big the event is from the ground. I've flown over the revival in a helicopter getting dropped off and I was seriously impressed with the size of the event outside of the track.
