Despite The Terrible Time at the festival last year, I'm going again this year.

Episode 1 of The Terrible Time was the 3 hours spent in traffic queuing to get into the carpark.
Do any regulars (speaking as someone who's been every year for 10+ years) know THE route to pick to approach?
I'll be coming M4/A34/M3/M27 to start with. Usually come in on the A27 then past the circuit and the RR factory.

I normally go A3 via Petersfield or Midhurst and come over the top (past horse race course and then into car park by formula one paddock) or through lavant. If coming via A27, come off at first roundabout and go through Chichester. I try and get there for as close to 7am as possible and leave by 4 at latest. Normally have no problems

Like any big event there will be loads of traffic the best way to avoid traffic is to leave early.

Get there before 7 and approach from the North.

Stick to the M27 and rock up about 8:30am. You'll be fine.

Thanks all. I was pondering getting there super early again anyway. I did this a few years back, queued for the gates to open, and it was a nice different angle to the show.

Either way I'll be going the north side for a change.

I'd go through Lavant and pop out opposite the kennals (?).

I normally get to the GRRC parking about half 6 ready to suncream-up and get organised before the fates open at 7. I spend about 12 hours per day there so I miss the traffic both on the way in and I the way home smile

OOI which is the GRRC parking? I'm going Thursday and haven't been to the FoS for a few years and I know it will be different to the Revival which I know like the back of my hand.

Thursday parking is normally in the bottom field near the Motor Circui where you walk through the Golf Course to get to the Moving Motor Show tent and the GRRC parking is closest to the entrance on the left hand side as long as you display this years GRRC windscreen sticker.

Or come down the hill past the Sculpture Park, turn right into the fields and the GRRC car park is just behind the hill climb sharp left bend before they start the uphill bit.

Good point, must remember to make sure it's in the right car.

Its a bit of a bugger - I'm driving Thursday and Saturday, but my friend is driving on teh Friday and he isn't a GRRC member, so I will, like you, have to remember to flip the sticker between cars
