So I'm looking at camping for the 4 days of FOS to save getting stuck in traffic (only live 30min away. So the question is will there be somewhere I can charge my camera or will I need to go for a pitch with electrical hookup and take the motorhome instead of a tent?

Can you not charge it from the power/lighter socket in your car?

You can take a tent to an electric hook up pitch. You just need a cable that adapts from a camper spec power plug to domestic sockets. Like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Camping-Site-Mains-Supply-...

Its £60 more for a power hook up pitch however and on the basis that we won't burn more than £60 in fuel idling the car with our phones on charge, we've gone non electric again for next year. Can't you charge the camera up with your cars power supply, even if you have to use something like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vktech-Truck-1000W-Power-I...

Cheers gents think I'll go down using the car as a power supply. For those that have camped before is it a good atmosphere on site? I hear the goodwood arms has live music in the evening?

Very laid back and quiet on site when we were there previously.

Got chatting to some lads from Newcastle for a couple of hours who were wandering by our gazebo and heard our even more irregular (for Chichester) accents than theirs and stopped for a chin wag over some beers.

There were some young lads (pains me to say that as we still think we are!) near us who had a couple of shandies one of the nights and got audible for a bit but I wouldn't say they were badly behaved.

Other than that we were in awe of just how organised some of the "campers" were, saw at least one old Land Rover with a safari style fold out tent on the roof and ladders up to it, a wide array of caravans and motor homes, some very large campers and a few massive RVs pitched up too, but still surrounded by tents of all shapes and sizes too.
