Kids for free?

The Goodwood site says that kids under 12 get in for free and a ticket isn't needed, but you can pre-book a wristband.

Does anyone know if I can just turn up with my ticket, no pre-booked wristband, and get in ok with my 7 year old son? I don't want to get there and find he can't get in without a pre-booked wristband.
