My 40th birthday this weekend. My other half has planned a fairly special day.

We've got an apartment booked in Brighton with friends, friday sat & sun. A chauffeur-driven 70s Daimler picks us up at 8am on the saturday ... one rather like this apparently.

Hoping the drive to Goodwood won't be tooooo agonising ... though I'm expecting fairly long queues.

Dressing up in a genuine 1950s RAF Officer's outfit. Taking lots of vintage picnic stuff in a retro picnic hamper. Champagnes and wines.

There for a day of outstanding vintage racing. We went for the first time last year and loved it, so was an easy choice to come again this year.

Back to brighton by not-so-vintage public transport for an evening of fun & frolics.

Anyone know what it's like getting back to Brighton after the Revival? I understand there's a bus which takes you to the station from the circuit, and it's easiest to just get a train?

I would definitely get a train, be cheaper/quicker than the bus that's for sure !

8am from Brighton might be a tad late? But the traffic will be heavy whatever. Yes there's a bus service from the track to Chichester station. Never used it as I always go in the Aston and stay just a few miles from the circuit. wink

Can't help with the train info, but just wanted to say it looks like a great fun way to travel!

Don't worry about the traffic, treat the queues as a part of the experience and enjoy it all smile

I'm not going this year, trundling around the Isle of Wight on a 1920s sidecar outfit instead. Came on here to fuel my jealousy hehe

I'm also staying in Brighton.

What time you reckon I would have to leave to get at the circuit at 8 o clock to get access to the Hawthorn infield parking?

early.. you don't want to be late for that!!! Depends on which day also - if it's Friday, the general traffic is worse due to people getting to work.. Sat and Sun will still be busy though..

Good luck..

We're leaving Worthing at 7am Sunday, last year traffic was awful, queued for miles and miles. 8am Saturday from Brighton will be a 2 hour journey at a guess.
