Ok, never done revival before but going for first time..

Heading down on Friday as a guest of some hospitality. Want to dress in the appropriate way, but wondering if the general spirit of period dress is taken on in the hospitality set up as well.

Anyone got any experience of hob nobbing it at revival and got any advice?

Am planning on tweeds etc, but colleague plans to just wear jeans and not bother so would be useful to get some feedback that helps me change his mind...

If your colleague doesn't want to go all out for the period look, that's fine, a lot of folk don't. Just make sure he's made aware that if you have center paddock access, there is a dress code. Period mechanics overalls are also acceptable.

You can get away with a suit and a fedora. Looks period without wearing a 'costume'.

Why doesn't he give his ticket to someone who actually cares about Revival?? Banker.

Precisely, anyone who can't be bothered to enter into the spirit of the Revival, however vaguely, shouldn't waste the ticket IMO. How hard can it be for this guy to wear some chinos, a blazer and some brogues? Jeans, no doubt what he calls "smart jeans" are totally out of place - he needs to loosen up a bit! biglaugh

He's just a normal bloke who has never heard of revival and thinks that dressing up is for girls...

Given some basic education he will shape up I'm sure..
