Mobile phone reception at FOS

It seems a few others like myself were getting absolutely nil mobile phone reception and no 3g on Friday - I'm on Vodafone, and ended up not meeting friends as we were contacting each other when we got there. Very frustrating, but shows how overloaded the system is when you get that many people in such a small space.

Having said that, a chap I shared a table with was on TalkTalk and had no problem ........

I had the same problem, me and mate got separated and couldn't call each other and 3G has been useless, been trying to tweet but can't even get my timeline to load.

O2 reception was good yesterday.

Coverage on Vodafone was absolutely appalling
I was in the GRRC Knnrara enclose at lunchtime, I never heard a single phone ring,
every time you tried to make a call it was ended ( because there were no lines available)
unable to ring or text anyone to arrange a meet up, sent a txt at 10.15 met the recipient at 4.15 and he hadn't received it

No problem with texts and calls on Orange, data was a bit of a no go though.

They do have temporary phone masts near the cricket pitch, but even Thursday they were dropping in and out of 3G and absolutely hammered my phone battery without touching it.

Tomorrow ill just rely on good old 2G

Couldn't make calls on VF but texts got through, albeit some were slow. Always go to texts if signal is poor, it takes so little bandwidth.

It's probably people with Facebook/Twitter all clogging up the network with pictures....

It appears that Vfe Cell on wheels (COW) for temporary events has failed, as no 3G coverage and dramatic battery drain ( on an iPhone 5)....... Need to make a call

I found it very intermittent on GiffGaff (O2), but the free wifi made up for it

I'm with T-Mobile and I had the same problem. Dreadful signal. Normally get a brilliant signal up there. Several times tried to use my wap but could load. Its been the worse year for reception up there.

On Vodafone yesterday and some texts took 3-4 hours to come through but some others went straight through (to the same persons phone). Made it difficult to meet up...

Minor issue though on an otherwise great day.

Vodafone has always been crap at FoS - no different to last year or the year before.

I was on O2 and found reception fine. Infact I was sending pics to my father of cars he would have loved to see. I'm evil like that.
