Having had two alloy wheel centre caps stolen today whilst my car was parked at FoS (approx £45 each to replace), beware of light fingered thieving 3.142key (censor me at your peril) ***** in the car parks. Bear in mind that there is no requirement to show a ticket to enter any of the FoS parking areas so it's easy.

Very sadly it means that Mrs JW911 and I are now not prepared to park at Goodwood FoS in any of our cars again so unless someone gives us a lift (or they stop charging a completely ridiculous landing fee), today was our last visit.

Consider very carefully whether you wish to take a vehicle of any value to Goodwood FoS.

Edit: Shame I won't find out who these ***** are as I consider a thumb per centre cap to be appropriate compensation. I can do it with a penknife or a hatchet, your choice.

these would work better than the penknife.

Beware the dust as well ! Dont park anywhere near a road/track.

I saw one mini that was almost completely brown with dirt.

How can you be sure that they were nicked whilst parked up at FoS. You could have lost them somewhere else or that they had fallen off driving to the FoS parking spot.

Got to say, FOS is becoming increasingly 3.142key. IMO.

You are quite right. I live two miles from Goodwood and we are overrun with Gypsies who have flocked to the area specifically to target the car parks and break into the FOS to pickpocket and thieve.

Plod is not interested as they apparently have every (human) right to do this. We are tearing our hair out locally as it is not even safe to leave our cars on our drive and there is a risk of housebreaking at night.

Tangmere?

The Chichester police are appalling at dealing with the local gypsy problem, there was a massive problem with them with crimes being reported and nothing happening last year.

Someone on Briskoda has his wheel bolts removed. Only noticed when he got on the dual and heard the rest fall out. Thankfully there were enough left to get it home. It could have killed him!

Friend of mine knows a number of the guys working some of the trade stands and said it has been a bit of a bad year for it.

Apparently quite a lot of cars have been broken into for CD's etc - so don't leave anything in view, also lots of bits taken from cars, including a rear exhaust box!!

Just a pity there isn't more farmers around like Tony Martin.

That might at least make them think twice...

I guess it's worth letting Goodwood know it you've had any problems, so it gives Goodwood management. A chance to review security in the car parks for next year at least.

Why can we not call s s? Has their ridiculous 'different race = racism' argument found a favourable ear here?

Theyre the same race as us: theyre just dirty, lying thieving scrubbers.

I think this is the best thing to do. It might not get anything done but if a rumour starts that gypsys are stealing from cars parked at their event it might not be good press. Might encourage them to get some patrols going.

Parked up on Thursday, on returning noticed that people had written lovely messages over my car. I know the cars are dusty, but why write the C word. I noticed other cars had similar messages. Why or who is doing this.
