Some advice needed please.

I have received today a Spectator Marshalls pack for Saturday & Sunday - thank you Kevin.

Only problem is that I have not done any marshalling before so i don't know what to expect. Reading through the pack it says that 'you should be appropriately dressed, ie no shorts'.

Stupid question I know but what is acceptable as appropriate clothing (I know that wet weather gear will not be required this year!!!).

The pack also includes a pass for Public Campsite E - i don't have any camping gear of any description so is a tent or a caravan provided for the Saturday night or do i need to bring my own stuff?

Also getting to Goodwood - is anyone making the trip from Cheltenham, Gloucester or Stroud - if so do you have a spare seat that I could jump into please???

I want to do the two days however I as I have said I don't know what to expect so any advice/assistance will be appreciated before I decide whether to accept the tickets etc or whether to return them unused.

Thank you.

I suggest you talk to the person that is organising the spectator marshalls for some of these questions. Most responses here will be guesswork and you are likely to be ill prepared if you don't check with your organiser.

However, from personal experience (and commonsense) take a hat, sunscreen and water. You won't necessarily be in the shade.

Based upon my experiences of last year, I am off to M&S shortly to purchase a pair of trousers which are lightweight with removable bottom halves to turn into shorts, as you say, shorts are not allowable.
The only stipulation on clothing is no shorts, so t shirts should be fine, you will issued with a tabard anyway.
Lunch is supplied, so you don't need to worry about that.
Tents etc are not provided, but I purchased a tent from Asda for £8 at the weekend, almost worth leaving it behind!

I presume you understand that you may in some far flung field away from the action, and possibly may not see too much of the event. Unless you get lucky.
