Friday - Too busy to take your children?
Discussion
Hi, the wife and I want to head down on Friday to FOS, but we can't get any childcare for the littleuns (2months and 2.5yrs). The 2yo boy will LOVE the show but we will still have to bring the double buggy for the nipper and him when he's tired. Am I being silly or is Friday a tad quieter and more pushchair/kid friendly?
friday is busier than it used to be but not too bad so it should be no problem
Took my son to the kids tent one year (highly recommended, if you can find it) and he got so carried away with having his face painted and making stuff out of rubbish that he wanted to stay in there all day

Whats you choice to go with 2 month old or stay at home? if they are your only options then go it will be fine.
There is a children's area that is normally pretty quiet (and shaded) and other large grassed areas to just listen to bands etc.. so you and your partner want to take it in turns to see the busier parts.
Time your entry / exit though, can be some big queues in heat on Friday.
{Edit} The above was stated before I remembered how bloody expensive Goodwood is now, if that is an issue you may want to think about going another time/alone its quite a bit of £ if only one can enjoy it at a time, might be better to spend it on inclusive "family" time. {/Edit}
I have some free Thursday tickets if you want it really quiet.

Took my 2 lads when they were 4 & 2 years old. The two main problems were that they got a bit bored whilst the cars changed over during runs & they didn't like the noise.
In my experience the crowds only tend to be a problem around some of the pits & near the footbridge over the track.
I was only really worried about the crowds when we went & swmbo was 8 months pregnant with the younger one (2006). Secretly hoped he might "arrive" in hallowed surroundings. If you can work out somewhere quiet & sheltered in case you need to have a pitstop with the 2 1/2 month old. We went to the revival that year when the youngest was 2 months & the people on one of the stands were great when we needed somewhere to perform a bit of a cleanup on him.
I would say take wet weather gear as I have had many a good drenching there but it looks good for the weekend, so sun hats, suncream & liquids. Take your own drinks as those available on site will be expensive.
Travel as light as you can with a 2 1/2 month old as there will be a lot of walking if you want to see most of the things there.
Hope I have't taught you to suck too many eggs.
Taking the lads again this sunday now the eldest is now 10 & the younger one has his 8th birthday on Monday.
Enjoy.
