Goodwood advice required

This will be my first trip to the FoS and I am greatly looking forward to it. Some friends and I have chosen to camp at Chichester Lakeside Campsite. I was wondering:
- has anyone camped there before who can offer advice on the best way to get to Goodwood from the campsite? Should we just drive?
- are there any general Goodwood tips that a firstimer like myself might appreciate? I have noted the common theme of "get there early".
I am a little concerned about seating to watch the hillclimb from, as i'm not keen on standing all day. Can we take fold up seats to watch the events from?
Thanks

Although you have not got far to drive, the A27 could be very busy so I would just recomend leaving as early as possible.
In terms of the day, just wander around and try and see as much as you can, get a programme to work out what you want to see go up the hill and look around the paddocks etc.
There are 3 (I think) free grandstands that you can sit in at various points up the hill, but they get very busy.
I find the best place to watch is to walk up the hill towards the rally stage and there is a big grass bank (next to a big screen) where you can sit down and watch the cars go up. Dont bother with fold up chairs - you will hacked off by having to carry them around, just sit on a coat or somthing
