Saywell international Saturday
Discussion
Simple answer....
I've had my 911 on a number of Saywell Days and have taken punters out for rides.
In no particular order:
You can only drive on track if invited by Peter Saywell.
Members of the public can ask drivers if they have a spare seat and are they willing to have a passenger, drivers are no obliged to say yes!
If the driver says yes and you go out, you must sign an indemnity and after the drive its a nice touch to place some cash in the charity bucket of the day as a thank you.
It's unlikely you will go out in any of Peter's cars. He has a list as long as your arm of pre-ordered rides and whilst I'm sure he'd love to take everyone out, time simply doesn't allow.
The trackday is open for any members of the public to come and view some outstanding cars, watch cars roar around the track and hopefully support a local charity by placing a few quid in the bucket regardless if you have a ride or not.
You have to remember that Peter gets absolutely nothing financially out of this day and he is simply enjoying his hobby supporting local charities at his (and other drivers) cost. I think from memory the last raised somewhere around £10k
Unfortunately I have sold my 997 and now have a 335i (bit of a change agreed!), and I whilst I've been invited to drive I don't think I will this time so I can't offer any rides, but hopefully my offering above may help. However I will be there to watch and hope to see good support from the PH clan

I have been told I always drove it with some enthusiasm rather than potter around the track, driving it like it should be driven
I'll try and be there to view, will have my 3 year old with me, I'm hoping he'll make my fortune by becoming an F1 driver one day!
