This will be the first goodwood FoS for me, and I'm after some advice.

I'm going with my brother and cash is a little tight for him, so we're planning on just buying entry ticetks for the Sunday (£57) without paying the extra for a grandstand space etc.

Will there be enough to see and do around the event without paying another £44 for a grandstand pass?

£57 is doable for both of us but £101 is probably too much, but if it's pointless going without getting a grandstand pass then I'll have to rethink!

Cheers chaps

There is plenty of viewing areas all the way up the hill to see the cars going up without a grandstand seat, plus add to that you'll have so much to cram into seeing in one day, you'll probably not use a grandstand seat much anyway.

I go all 4 days and have not had a grandstand seat for the last few years as there is that much to see and do.

Hope you enjoy your first visit to the FoS smile

I agree with PompeyM3. I have been to dozens of FoSs and never had a grandstand seat. There's so much to see that you won't want to stay in one place for too long.

Yeah, for one day a grandstand ticket isn't worth it at all as there is so much to see and do. If I went for the whole weekend I might, as you can relax a lot more without worrying about missing out on things!

echo the above... have been to at least a dozen FOS's, never had or felt the need for a Grandstand ticket.

As above, much better to walk around, see the cars go up the hill in different places, look at the stalls, car stands and wonder round the paddocks, especially when the cars are going out and coming in (can get especially close to the formula one cars)
Think if you were going for 2/3 days, a day in a grandstand would be good

There's too much to do in a day to probably even stop walking!

However there are lots of viewing areas along the hill climb and the odd free spectator grandstand dotted around for standing on.

There is no need to worry about grandstand tickets if your going for just the one day! You definitely wont have a chance to sit down. There are several good viewings points around the course regardless and you wont be short of things to see.

Been to every one for the past 10 years, this is the first year I've bought Grandstand tickets, only because Mrs 98elise wants to sit down when we watch cars on the Hill.

For a first timer going one day, they would be a complete waste of money. There's far too much to do, and its not hard to get up to the ropes for viewing. Also there are uncovered grandstands at certain vanatge points, which are free to all. They are more for standing than sitting, but you get the same (ish) view.

Enjoy you first visit.

Just hurry up and buy if you are still deliberating. Saturday is sold out and Sunday won't be far behind
