Goodwood link does not seem to work. In previous years you just turned up and assuming your car was super enough you where waved in. With the popularity of this event I am wondering if this is still the case. Anyone know?

Hi, We have pre registered as its going to be really busy.
Not sure why the links not working but I would keep trying to avoid disappointment.

I pre-registered a few weeks ago. I think they let you know by email if you have been lucky enough for someone to put greasy finger prints over you car in the pit straight. I am taking a cattle prod this year ......

I was at Goodwood this morning for a track day and in the club house a notice has been posted about revised traffic management for Supercar Sunday. Amongst other things it says:

  • Only cars that have pre-registered and have a printed pass will be allowed into the circuit.
  • Themed cars must arrive before 8.00am.
Everyone else will be directed to the two public car parks.

I can't see any mention of this on the website though.

With respect to your fab collection of cars, which do you consider to be a supercar?

Hi, I'd kind of hoped that the Noble would make the grade, it did a few years back and have great photo of it on the grid. Maybe it doesn't cut the mustard these days (despite still being able to show some of the more modern exotica a clean pair of heels!)

No hum.

I think the Noble would be borderline now.. Bearing in mind how many cars now attend. It would be a shame to miss it just because you couldn't get your car into a particular spot though??

Have no fear we'll be going anyway! Just not that keen on parking it in a field, I've become quite attached to my front splitter!

Update: You have to poke around a bit to find it but a cut-down version of the notice I mentioned above has now been posted on the Goodwood Website under Latest News

Pre-Registration at Goodwood Breakfast Club

Now enjoying its eighth season, the pioneering Goodwood Breakfast Club has gone from strength-to-strength in both its reputation and attendance over the years.

To help assist the smooth vehicle transit into the event, as well as to efficiently park-up the right theme-relevant cars and motorcycles, and provide a more accurate volume of catering to meet demand, Goodwood is now firming-up on the mandatory need to pre-register your vehicle before all future Breakfast Club events.

SUPERCAR SUNDAY

The next scheduled Breakfast Club meeting is Supercar Sunday on 2nd June. This is traditionally the most popular Breakfast Club meeting of the season, with the roads and car parks around Goodwood filling-up fast. Therefore, for this event, all supercar drivers and superbike riders aiming to enter the Goodwood site and potentially have their car or bike parked on the main grid must pre-register online at www.goodwood.com/breakfastclub to help ensure a smooth flow. A vehicle pass (relevant to the themed vehicle only) can then be downloaded and printed off for display in the vehicle windscreen when approaching Goodwood.

None-pass holders, and all other none-theme relevant vehicles, will be directed by sign posts and marshalls into car parks directly opposite the Goodwood Moor Circuit for a very short walk into the event itself.

Hi

I haven't heard back but didn't expect to as its only a tuscan. With the amount of rain due this week what's the off site parking like, don't fancy trying to get the car in and out of a muddy field

As far as fields go it's not bad. I parked my chimaera in there on soft top Sunday due to the manic traffic but it's a bit too uneven for the Noble I reckon. A Tuscan should be ok but what was a lovely green field a month ago could be a mud bath come Sunday...... We shall see!

There's still time ... just. Registration (or pre-registration as they insist on calling it) closes tomorrow.

Hi Dave too wavey

Shelly
I pre-registered on the 7th May but have not had a confirmation email from Goodwood so it looks as though a DB9 isn't even a supercar. (I was hoping that they were waiting until the closing date for applications on the 29th before they decided who could get on the grid but I see you have already received a reply)...

Hi Shelly and Jamie. Hopefully see you on Sunday... wavey

Looks like the 'Field' will have a better show than the track at this rate ..... all getting too picky.

I think it's a case of "damned if you do, damned if you don't."

Without pre-registration, there is no way that marshalls can ensure that all themed vehicles make it into the circuit but with it, I suspect it almost guarantees even longer queues on every approach to the circuit.

I haven't been to one of these for over a year now - too much queuing unless a silly o'clock start and over-priced breakfasts. Pre-registration will not make much difference I fear. It's a shame as it was and is a good idea but the circuit approaches cannot really cope with the numbers that attend a free event.
