Last year I went to the FoS for the whole weekend but on reflection thought that perhaps just the Friday and Saturday would have been fine. On the basis that I don't want to remortgage the house to be able to go, would members agree that Friday and Saturday are the best choices for the Revival? read

Purchase your event tickets through the special offer in the local paper (Chichester Observer) in the weeks before the F-o-S and with your Saturday ticket you'll get a free one for Friday - no need to re-morgage the house.

I went Thursday and Saturday last year
Thursday was fairly quiet, waondered all around and got some test drives up the hill (it was the Moving Motor Show), and then on Saturday I enjoyed the cars going up the hill and did not wonder around too much

I see there has been some misunderstanding of my query. I'm really interested in people's advice on the Revival. But thanks for your responses so far.

What you need to do is look at what races you want to attend as they are all different each day.

Can I suggest that someone creates a wiki for this?
(No disrespect intended to the Zed44, but) this question is asked half a dozen times a year.
Just a thought.

But the problem with a wiki is the races change each year at the revival so it's always different.

I haven't been on a Sunday, so can't comment on that but the Friday seems less busy than the Saturdays and you get to see all the cars qualifying on track.

This is true, only issue is that most of the star drivers tend to attend on Sunday.

There tends to be a two year programme swapping year on year e.g St Mary's trophy is one year 1950s saloons with 1960s saloons the next. Likewise the single seaters some years it's 1950s next it will be 1960s. There is also usually a single mark race which is differemt each year. The RAC Trophhy is, I believe, usually 1960s GTs

I always go for the whole weekend as this means I can wander around and look at the exhibits, aircraft display (in the air and on the ground) paddock, stalls etc. on Friday and actually watch the races on Sat & Sun but it depends where your interest lies.

I work with the aircraft over the weekend and luckily get time off to get to many races. Even after 3 days (plus a browse about the paddocks Thursday evening) I still find stuff I've missed come Sunday afternoon. There's just so much to do.

Interesting, one of my ex-colleagues from Booker Gliding Club now flies for the Old Flying Machine Co. When I last saw him, and I entioned Goodwood he told me to stroll in and say hello yet somehow italways looks pretty busy when I visit the airfield area. What do you reckon?

It can get busy and obviously it is still an active airfield so not just anyone can walk airside. However if you get him to meet you he can escort you round

I do all four days (Thursday the Moving Motor Show and three days FoS). On the Thursday and Friday I do the paddocks. On Saturday and Sunday I sit and watch the cars going up the hill. As I get fed up with all the crowds in the paddock areas.
