Got there at 7.30 and was parked half way round the circuit which was rather annoying seeing as a convoy of 5 or 6 modern Porkers got to park in the 'usual' car park (entrance then turn right before tunnel) moments after we were redirected.
The bit which says 'theme cars only' seemed to quickly go out the window too as I saw quite a few non-themed cars entering that area.

Also, the lack of cones by the entrance also saw me in a bit of a queue on the way out as I exited left out the circuit, up to the roundabout and back on myself. Maybe they should go back to the system which 'seems' to have worked well (if a bit busy at times) for a few years. At least the next few meets my car meets the criteria!

I guess they need to try other ways at getting so many people parked up with the least amount of fuss. I came from Lavant and did a right turn into the site and then parked up on the circuit. Seemed to flow okay and no hassle at all getting out.

Great start to the Breakfast Club season, was amazed how busy it was, more like a Supercar Sunday.

Looking forward to the next one smile

Amazing amount of cars there for the first one. Imagine what supercar Sunday is going to produce. Lets hope they don't start charging to get in.

What a fantastic morning! Great turn out and some lovely American muscle on show. I had no problem with parking. Got there at 8.15 and was directed to park a 10 min walk along the track. Car park was an auto show in itself :-).

from the olden daysbiggrin

i thought it was a wonderful turnout, and i, along with a number of marshals i spoke to, werent expecting it to be so well attended. The walk along the Lavant straight was a show in itself

In fact our classic ('91 Eunos - oh yes it is! ) was turned away at the Main Entrance whereas sundry, more modern, "interesting" cars were allowed into the Tesco carpark.
Seems as if the marshalling is a bit haphazard in that respect but in fairness a) I wouldn't want to be standing around freezing my nads off and b) it's a great free event wherever you park.

Thanks also to Haylingjag ^^ for the interesting drive back over Harting Down. rotate
The lunch-time bap at the Meon Hut was awesome!
Cheers, Pewe.

Me and the old man were discussing on the way home how well the parking was organised today. You'll quite often find the daily drivers you see getting into the closer parking are disabled or those with young children. I know from last year as soon as they clocked my sisters passat with kids in the marshals waved her through all the way to the undercover parking in the pits.

Now like most I would like to see every space filled with a themed car but the fact the marshals realise how much hassle a couple of kids in tow are then I can give nothing but praise to them.

I quite liked the new entrance, came onto the track halfway down Lavant, and was early enough so that the track was sufficiently empty to give it a good blast past Woodcote and through the chicane.
Getting there stupidly early has it's advantages once again. smile

We ended up looping down to Lavant and back up a little, parking on the grass. I don't think they expected so many cars. There was loads of awesome non-themed metal to enjoy in the public area as usual. What a stark contrast to the last one in November which was virtually deserted!

I thought the new parking was excellent, I turned up at 08:30 and there was no queue to park which with that volume of visitors is very good.

Mrs Big E was in my friends E-Type and it took them longer to park in the display area than it took me to park in the general area and walk to the bacon roll stall.

For a free event where you can see such an eclectic range of fabulous classics I don't think it can be beaten, well done Goodwood.

Anther here that thought the non-themed parking further round the track was a really good move. Followed the signs and drove straight in at 8:15. The little walk round the track to the main event was no hardship.

Well done to the Goodwood organisiers on coming up with the new area for non-themed parking, worked a treat. clap
