Hi Everyone,

Has anyone else lost money on flight/hotel changes due to the date change.

I fully understand the reasons for the change and support the decision 100%. I am slightly disappointed to have lost money due to being proactive and booking early to go to this event.

I rang the office to enquire about a claims procedure, but they don't have one at the minute.

I think if enough people on here generate a strong enough case, then we may be able to apply pressure to retrieve our losses. I'm guessing their insurance should cover items like this.

Thanks

Mark

They are not in the business of losing money (however it appears they do very well at losing money at Revival so I'm told by an informed employee), and they need to re-coup that at FOS - hence changing the date with little or no thought to those who have made non refundable purchases.

LM won't be interested in any letters of complaint regardless of how many people write in - however people voting with their feet this year on this and other extortionate costs associated with FOS may well make them think twice (although I wouldn't hold your breath!)

I'm not a Goodwood fan albeit I admire him for the effort he's made to create the event, I simply think he's lost touch with the paying public who ultimately make it happen.

Edited to add their insurance almost certainly won't cover consequential loss.

I can't see how anyone can make a claim here, they are not obliged to worry about what travel and accommodation arrangements people have made. I can see why they have moved the event, F1 is one of the main highlights.

So what will Goodwood do should the TBA F1 GP moves from 19-21 July to the 13-14?

It's called 'Consequential Loss' - and Goodwood won't be liable, trust me on this one.

We have just had our tickets refunded as we cant make the new dates. This was a very slick process, however the lady on the telephone was very explicit that any costs other than direct ticket costs are NOT covered.

I think you will Mark.

As I mentioned in my first reply Goodwood won't be throwing money at people who have lost money.

It would however be a nice guesture if those who could prove they had booked a non-refundable whatever based on a publicised first date (prior to the date change) got their money back from the organiser.

It's more likely you'll win the lottery and in my experience with Goodwood there's only one name on any list......

Goodwood.

Rest assured, Lord March won't be losing any sleep for those who will lose money as a result of the date change.
