I go on Friday every year (as well as the Saturday and Sunday- it's a gem of a day)

Friday has been getting increasingly busy at the Revival over the past few years. It is not as manic as Saturday or Sunday but nonetheless- there are plenty of people.

As for the dress theme- it is the same for all three days.

This year, there is also a race on Friday (the Freddie March Memorial Trophy for sportscars 1952-55). Starts at 1815 and runs through dusk until 1945.

In that case I might get there later in the day and leave later to miss the Friday rush hour traffic.

A good plan. But don't arrive too late as you'll miss air displays and each race only gets one practice session.

Yep, changes the nature of the day entirely. That race is one of the bloody highlights of the meet!

How about arriving earlier AND leaving later?!

Seriously- you will miss an awful lot on the Friday IF you don't arrive in good time. It's a great place to wander around at about 8am on a Friday- not many people there and if you are lucky you can chat to some of the mechanics/ drivers and you have a good opportunity to get some good photographs in the Paddocks before it gets too busy.

Qualifying/ practice normally starts at around 9am or 9.30 (can't remember which) and is full on throughout the day.

and the sun should be setting at about 1930 so the last part of the race will be really cool to watch and hopefully get some good pictures. smile

And if it's anything like today it will be warm during the day but freezing once the sun goes down so if you're in the stands have something warm to wear! I was sat outside having a glass of red when ariund 7pm it was so cold I came in...
