I'm taking my Dad to this years Revival for his 70th Birthday, and thought that rounding off the day with a lovely meal at a Restaurant , local[ish] to the circuit, would top off the day nicely.

Any ideas from some locals? I'm coming in from Yateley, so will go through Hindhead and Midhurst

TIA

That looks lovely - I'll have a look to see if they may have a table free :0

Depending on what you're looking for, Cassons has been very good the twice i've used it previously. Run by a husband/wife, food and service have been very nice!

That looks nice too! I never knew there would be such a choice so close to the circuit.

Any more slightly further afield, as they may be booked up already as they are so close....?

How about The Spread Eagle in Midhurst? Not been there for a few years but for a birthday dinner, ideal I'd have thought?

Sounds like somewhere I should take my 70 y/o Dad to - unless he has a dodgy aorta!

As RichB said the Spread Eagle is very good but only has a smallish restaurant, an alternative suggestion is the Royal Oak on the entrance into Midhurst is also a very good bet. It was taken over by the present landlord and has turned the business around, check out trip advisor remarks.
this is also one of my locals

A few decent eateries in Chich.

We tend to base ourselves a little further out in Compton. Great village pub and grub.

In Fernhurst (between midhurst and hindhead) there is Marco Pierre White @ the Kings Arms and also, The Duke of Cumberland just down a lane from there also... the second being a more of a relaxed atmosphere than the first, but still excellent food...

Cheers guys, I've googled them all and they are all pretty much what my Dad would be comfortable in, and good on the pocket too!

This is like a list of my local pubs! Maybe you've found somewhere, but I can endorse both the Duke of Cumberland in Henley (Peter Gethin used to live there, tricky entrance to lane off the main road) and the Spread Eagle (yards from my wife's office in Midhurst) as being good, and where Mike Hawthorn used to sup ale on his way home. The Fox Goes Free in Charlton is a little dark inside - I was there last night - but a lovely view of the Downs outside and full of racing people. One of my favourites. I would also recommend both my local The Unicorn in Heyshott off the Midhurst road, and the Foresters in Graffham off the Petworth road. Then there's the Horseguards in Tillington (one mile from Petworth) and... well, the list goes on and on! Bon appetit!
