Popped into Goodwood today and saw some interesting cars practicing. I assume for the St Mary's Tropy event.

I did a track day a little while ago and several revival cars were doing a shakedown session, it was fantastic being on track with them. smile

More revival testing on the 30th August and 6th September according the Goodwood 'What's on' page. I was planning on taking the camera down and get some photos without any crowds.

Do you know whether there's a charge for public entry or is it closed full stop ?

Normally it's open full stop. No charge, no restriction apart from pit lane & wall.

That's unlikely. There will be too much going on around there for it to be safe for pedestrians.

Weather looks good for the 6th. Are there parking restrictions in place now? Is it best to park in the gravel car park just inside the entrance.

Many thanks.

Best place to park is the main paddock in one of the paddock shelters , plenty of spaces in the main paddock..even with testing on , as most teams park in the first two paddock bays. testing is from 9 till 5 ...but most teams are gone or packing up by 4.30 and not all cars run or may only do 5 or so laps all day.

Big 'off' today on revival test day for a A40 ? .. hit the chicane tyres very hard and went into a multi roll and landed on its roof. Driver got out ok and just in time to as the car caught fire !! . great job done by the marshals and goodwood airport fire service.

It was an A90 (Westminster) rather than an A40 I think.

I recollect an A90, perhaps the same one, went off there in a bog way during the race a couple of seasons ago.

It was quite a spectacular roll he did. Good that he was unharmed, shame about the car. Every panel was bent and mangled. I could have photographed the accident but for some reason i put the camera down in disbelief. It was like slow motion watching him roll.

Nice pics Rich, the Ferraris' looked and sounded awesome, as did the Shelby replica. Oh and all the Cobras. But confused by the bikes though, a revival meet but all the bikes were modern Superbikes. Not an old classic in sight.

Yes, pretty sure it's the same one, Tom Kristensen has driven it in the past. Pretty sure Kenny Brack was out in it this morning (he wasn't driving when it crashed) in addition to the Shelby Daytona, and was due to drive it in the St Mary's Trophy.

The ATS V8 in the Derrington-Francis was another one that sounded absolutely lovely too, looking forward to next week smile
