Festival of Speed - More than one official camp area?

Planning to head down from Edinburgh with a couple of friends and camp on the official site, though I'm concerned that the booking site says the camp area is half a mile from the event area, though any promotional material I've read implies the camping is literally at the door.

I'm guessing its an overflow area that is available this late in the year but does it still have the same facilities?

There are two campsites, but the overflow one that is detailed as ½ mile is roughly the same distance as the main one, especially if your at the far end of the field.

The issue i have is we booked one campsite pitch then a few decided to join us so we booked another pitch and when the tickets came through the pitches are for different fields . . . .???

Well we've bashed on and booked anyway so we'll find out when we eventually get down there sometime on Thursday how it is all set out.

Work commitments mean we'll still be covering the 457 miles to get there when the moving motor show is on.

What are the camping facilities like? I'm overnighting from Thurs-Sun on the exhibitors camp site

Anyone like to swap a pitch in the main campsite for one in the overflow one, might suit someone who wants to be near their mates ?
