Robert Barrie Track day 24th Feb - photos
Discussion
Here are a few photos of today's track event held at Goodwood. I normally only visit Goodwood for the 'Breakfast Club' events but had the day off so thought why not point the Vectra towards Goodwood and see what's on.
I reckon there was about 50 people max there, plus I didn't even have to queue for a coffee, however the range of cars there was fantastic. Although I wish I'd actually gone round the track!

PS . . . I know the vintage cream 911 is nothing like a golf but couldn't resist taking a snap when I saw you all hovering over it

Hi Wookie, it was a pleasure to meet you and you were flying.
Did you how it happened? I was at the far end of the pitlane and only saw it once airborne. Did he clip the chicane tyrewall?
It was a relief to see him out the car quickly and unhurt.

I was right behind him, so we had front row seats. Basically he went into the last chicane a bit too hot, couldn't quite make it through the gap and clipped the left hand tyre wall with his left rear wheel. This bounced the back of the car upwards and to the right, and he took the tumble which you saw.
I was pretty shocked actually, I've seen many (many) shunts of varying severity when I raced Caterhams and that is the first time I've ever seen one go over! Usually in that sort of situation I'd expect the deDion tube to exit through the rear basket via the fuel tank, but instead for some reason the rear suspension really held together.
