This e-mail just fell into my inbox........

Wow ! What a coup for Goodwood, what a fantastic result for us punters.

I can almost smell the Castrol R cloud9

Chaps, I've just read elsewhere that these cars will be run in display laps not an actual race. It will still be interesting to see them but not as exciting as watching them race whcih is what I was hoping for. scratchchin
Still be in "race speed" action though... "bring the noise"

My thoughts exactly! woohoo

Well done Goodwood, can hardly wait (I'm lucky enough to be in the grandstand between Woodcote corner and the chicane, I reckon it'll be great seeing them come through Woodcote at speed!)

I remember when they were at the Festival of Speed maybe back in 2009 I think and some one of the factory mercedes drivers was being interviewed he said while there is no problem using the cars at the Festival because the risk is minimal they wouldnt be able to bring them to the revival due to the chance of some one else crashing into them which is why I was a bit surprised reading this initially but a full speed display will still be awesome.

I dont know as much as I should about each model but I recall one of them was idling waiting to go down the hill and it was probably one of the loudest cars I have ever heard. Standing about 4 feet away from the car it caused severe distortion to the footage on my video camera hehe

Remember to bring your gas masks if you're anywhere near them warming up in the paddock hehe.

I hope one of the C & G W125 recreations ends up in the hands of someone who is prepared to race it.
