Did anyone else get along to Saturday's Saywell track day. I got there earlyish but had to go early to get up to Hounslow. Anyway here are a few pics I took in the 20 mins I was there.

Lovely orange V8 Vantage and ONE-77 looked fantastic but then I noticed the taz discs. Tax for V8 is £950 whilst the One-77 is £1000!!!!! Still if you can afford them then that would be small change!

That's only for the first year, after that they both go down to somewhere about £450.

Cracking shots Rob.

Make yourself known to me next March at the next Saywell day and if you're up for it, I'll take you round the track if that's of any interest?

The owner of this car has 2 black Ferraris both bearing number plates that read as ROBBIY.
He's fiddled the digits around (his name is Robbie) but I never get close enough to read how he's done it. Police in Brighton seemed to have tugged most illegal plates in the town but never bother with him.

They have bothered with him, but he took them to court and his plates are now deemed legal yes

I'm not sure about the fine detail, but I had a long chat with him on the grid and mentioned the 'illegal' plate. He didn't go into detail and I understand he took them to court some years ago. Apparently on the DVLA there is a note the police should not pull him as it's not illegal.

He was also telling me about his bid for the final One77 that is for sale.........

Nice guy and clearly has more money that he knows what to do with!

Have a look in this weeks Autocar in Steve Sutcliffe's column (page 21)

The Mclaren is pictured with a Ferrari 458 another similar number plate.

This is the fella - i think Police don't bother him as he does lots of charity work - i'm guessing that - as i heard Police did not bother Pimlico Plumbers number plates because they did charity

Robbie is a very friendly guy, loves his cars and very proud of his plates. ROB81Y is the 12C and ROB131Y is the 458.
