Watching in car videos rarely does much for me, many show some skill but they rarely make your hairs stand on end a la Vatanen crossing the cattle grid in the Manta in the early 80's... Last night however was different, and it showed just how average most people are. Kenny's car control, commitment and ability in the TT was truly mesmerising. If you havent seen the footage on ITV4, make sure you watch it. Martin Brundle was also special.

Brack was astounding! Every lap through Fordwater he was having an enormous moment but never looked anything less than totally in control of the car. Certainly one of the best Revival performances I can recall. Brundle behind him was so silky smooth, maybe a little less dramatic but ever so quick for what amounts to a road car. I was also very impressed with Cheever, Reid and Hill. Just a shame the race length was reduced.

I still think the battle in 2009 was my favourite TT - Gounon 250 GTO 64, Hardman 330LMB, Newey E-type, Law Lister, Bellm Daytona Cobra and Hall Cobra all within a few metres of one another until the stops. Such fabulous machinery.

Actually after about 10 laps they'd split in to 2 packs but was an absolutely fabulous sight. Brundle in 08 in Newey's E-type after the botched driver change was something special too

I just love the TTcloud9

Agree with all the other stuff. In this respect I was puzzled as to why the start was so delayed. The race started after lunch and it was about 45 mins late getting off, time which could have been made up by shortening the lunch break. I know the marshals need an hour off but they would have had that anyway with all the parades etc. Then Lord March made his address about the Spitfire but even so that could have been advanced so I really was puzzled by the late start and consequent shortening of the feature race. Anyone any the wiser? confused

The weather conditions grounded the spitfires before the TT, and this then delayed the race. Also playing catch up aftert the nasty morning shunt..

I believe the noise agreement with the neighbours includes a 1 hour break for lunch, we certainly had to stop for an hour when we were there for a track day, maybe this was part of the reason?

I agree, the way he was effortlessly controlling that Shelby in atrocious conditions, good drive indeed. Was anyone at the Revival a few good years ago when Surtees was in David Pipers Green Ferrari? Surtees sure did show what a World champion could do and he was in his 70's then!!! Impressive too.

I remember that, truly sublime. Perhaps the only time we have really seen one of these cars, as a historic, being driven to its absolute potential. Surtees seemed to regress to his youth that day and the sheer flowing brilliance of the drive is still crystal clear to me today.

The only comparator I have is when the late, great, Gerry Marshall took a V16 BRM by the scruff of its neck at a VSCC Sliverstone in the 80's. I was only a child but the sight, and of course the sound, are still with me.

Lovely photo, mine should come up if you click on the box. However if it doesn't
http://www.flickr.com/photos/74mex/4266619737/in/s... is the pic on line, as you will see a little later when the 1st 3 had broken away.

Met Kenny Brack on Friday and again on Sunday after the TT race. What a genuinely nice man with plenty of time for interested fans. I was suprised at the way the car was driven during the race but he told me the car's owner asked both him and Tom to drive it fast and go for the win. This despite the car being valued by the owner at £7 million. Full marks to Brundle and Hales for a sterling effort in the GTO which is reportedly worth double that.

Kenny Brack's stint

Tom Kristensen's stint

A relaxed Kenny Brack after the race.

As an aside and just as brilliant did anyone see the end of the Whitsun trophy race when Jay Esterer almost lost control at the chicane but recovered and won. By contrast Paul Knapfield crashed at the same point supposedly on some oil. Looking at the replay on ITV he seemed to be to busy watching Esterer slide and lost the plot. Gary Pearson was not very complimentary about Knapfield in the post race interview!

Am I right in thinking this is the first TT Revival win for a Daytona Cobra? Also - does anyone know whether Ludovic Caron's is a real one? I'm struggling to find out who the lucky six owners are, apart from Glaesel.

Yes it is the first win for the Daytona, its best previous showing was 09. There wasn't one in the field last year. I had thought it perhaps didn't quite have the pace, how wrong can you be!

I agree with you, very well put. I remember standing by the first straight after the first corner (if you get me) Ive driven around there enough times you'd think I'd know the names of the corners!!!

Anyhow I digress I remember seeing Surtees in the Green Ferrari just absolutely on it! I said to my Dad, why and how Dad? He said that Surtees was renown for his smooth lines as he was a motorcyclist as well, that day he was in another league, maybe he thought 'Im not getting any younger its time to show these youngins what a real champ can do' Anyhow I was impressed!!!!

The only other time I have been seriously impressed was when watching Barry Sheen, I think his actions at Goodwood are immortal.....

It was the 1st win for a Cobra full stop I've waited ever since the 1st Revival to see a cobra win the TT was so pleased this year, on paper a Daytona should easily win just shows what happens when you put 2 top drivers behind the wheel. A vintage TT in my eyes (however I probably wouldn't have said that had I not been under a covered grandstand). St. Mary's was another corker as well with some brilliant door bashing cant wait until the 2012 Revival for me a much better event than the FoS
