i dont think this has been said before but top marks must be given to all of the commentators at both the festival and revival, obviously great knowledge but great entertainment and informative too

When they stick to motorsports, if they go 'off-piste' then they soon start gaffing. My favourite was the pronouncement, as the Spitfires scrambled on Sunday, that the Spitfire Prelude from the film, 'Battle of Britain' was being played by the band, when 'as any fool no' it was 633 Squadron! -Script gone wrong perhaps?

The Jones/Pye axis is an excellent one. I much prefer the commentary at the Revival than the FoS. The Festival these days is a little too self-congratulatory with constant requests for celebrities to describe how wonderful the event is. However, nobody can mess with Pye's knowledge - he is simply heroically well-informed in the historic/club scene. I love it at other events when he is paired with Ian Titchmarsh, they work really well together.
