The BMW crash into the bails on Sunday.
Discussion
Any one know what happened to the driver of the tuning companies BMW that crashed heavily into the bails at the corner on Sunday? Is he all ok? I was seated in a grandstand opposite the House, the event was postponed for nearly an hour. I saw all the emergency services fly past us but then we heard nothing. There was no repeat of the incident on the big screen and no one commented if the driver was ok or not. It was like it never happened.
Any one know anything?

it wasnt the labatts car. it was a customer alpina car that was crashed - there is already a thread about this incident.
as far as i know both the driver & passenger were unhurt apart from the passenger had a few minor cuts & bruises.
just one of those things - a volvo was crashed o thursday as well due to there being a damp patch on the hill onto which the driver apparently dropped a wheel after which he was a passenger.
the same damp patch almost caught me out when i was in the Alfa Romoe Guillieta Clover Leaf. It was a deceptive bend where it was easy to put a wheel onto the grass. many people did just that however just one unlucky punter binned the volvo.
he wasnt driving recklessly - just had one of those 'oh st' moments which happens to us all!!!

It is event policy at Goodwood not to discuss an accident over the PA. This was introduced after the Marshall lost his legs when a, IIRC, Lotus F1 crashed on the finish line.
John Dawson-Damer crashed his Lotus 63 after suffering a suspected heart attack, in 2000. He died together with a Marshall named Andrew Carpenter, another marshall called Steve Tarrant lost the lower part of his right leg, he still marshals today. I believe Andrews ashes were scattered by his old marshall post at Le Mans.Edited by Gwagon111 on Monday 18th July 23:10
