Great sequence of photos. I am sure the rider will appreciate how well you have captured his mistake.

Jay Leno has one of these jet bikes. He told a story once about it melting the plastic bumper on an Infiniti while stopped at a traffic light. biggrin

I managed to catch Jay Leno on his way into the drivers club on Saturday morning and asked him about his turbine bike. He reckoned that it's actually quite dosile, despite it's 400 odd horsepower. He had an LED display fitted to the number plate, which warns people not to get too close because of the hot exhaust, someone in an Infiniti ignored it and got their bumper melted hehe. It costs 200,000 pounds, but the guys who make it will do everything, including servicing and any crash repairs, for as long as you own the bike, for free. Given the price tag I'd expect that though eek

I didn't see this but heard about it on the Tannoy system, the commentators just went "ouch, that is going to be expensive"
They said he clipped the grass and thats what made him fall, but he didn't just clip it, by the looks of things he was off onto the grass and headed for a hay bale shaped wall. How did he end up to far on the grass?

Can't have done much damage though as he was back up and running on Saturday aswell.

I must admit the chap riding it came across as a complete Berk when I spoke to him, I think the he thought the crowd surrounding him were actually there to look at him rather than Mr Martin sharing his Pit.

The owner had to get a new brake/clutch lever (whichever) and the Ducati people on their stand came up trumps for him.

Shows that bikers of any sort are decent people. Can't always say the same for car drivers.
